I wish to put subtitles in the clip. Most of the videos support subtitles. This video does not contain subtitles. I hope to continue adding subtitles in the videos. Thank you very much for the valuable information and effort you make.

A numeric reference would have been sooo useful. Perhaps it’ll come in a firmware update.

Well, I used my i1pro to measure patches and adjust these sliders on P4K. This requires me to make it cooler and more magenta. The result is dE=1.3 for white patch, and dE=0.9 for gray. Now menus looks way magenta, but I hope the image now is neutral.

Yeah you went the more Pro Way! I guess that would be the ideal way
@shamsheeds

Not sure, but you could use the video assist monitor also as visual reference to do the calibration, or any other calibrated external monitor. It could have been more helpful if they added the option to use the calibration tool in a live view setup. May be the new RGB histogram can also be used to achieve a neutral white balance. Numerical values for the balancing would indeed have been of great help.
@THEDPJOURNEY
@THEDPJOURNEY 3 жыл бұрын
You could, but how good is the calibration of their video assist would be? Also This means you will have to buy the video assist. I feel many of the people who are buying this camera might not have any calibrated monitor options on the side. So the solution is good if you only have this camera

@@THEDPJOURNEY True. It sad to see how camera manufacturers tend to ignore the importance of having a calibrated monitor or viewfinder. But somewhere somehow an owner will have to look for a calibrated monitor so as to compare. I've never trusted any camera I've had in the past and always tried so. One question: When you change the profile from film to rec 709 on the camera, does it affect the monitor calibration display? As well as if you have a LUT display on, does it affect it? Thanks
@THEDPJOURNEY
@THEDPJOURNEY 3 жыл бұрын
The LUT affects the whole display equally on top of your calibration preset. In other words your calibration is affecting the root level of the display colors, while the LUT is at the video FEED level only. Which is why your LUT doesn’t affect your menus colors while you’re calibration does

Worked like a charm, but: one 6K pro display shows an overexposed image (by at least roughly two stops), the other image is perfect. What’s happening here? How can I fix that? 🥺

won't the used lens affect the calibration ? I mean, doesn't every lens has different color rendition ? or is it not that much affective ?
@THEDPJOURNEY
@THEDPJOURNEY 3 жыл бұрын
There is a lens difference yes, but It’s not that dramatic no. Again this is not a $40K reference monitor we’re calibrating. We just want to get it close enough to what you should see on your timeline, so we’re good with a large margin of error
@CircuitBoardcokr
@CircuitBoardcokr 3 жыл бұрын
I hope BMD simply add calibrator support into their camera and monitor. Atomos already does. Simple Temp/Tint adjustment only works when a screen has wrong white point setting. Wouldn't help if the screen has bad gamma response, partially distorted color response. Only prompt calibration can solve this.

Hi I don't suppose you've had a chance to test the IRND qualites of the ND filters? The key feature for me are the ND's, so unless they are pretty good in terms of IRND, then i'll probably refrain from getting the camera. Any insight would be most welcome. Thanks for your work. Appreciate it.

why not perform a manual white balanced and then try to match the lcd color to the evf, which doesn't have the blue cast?
@THEDPJOURNEY
@THEDPJOURNEY 3 жыл бұрын
That’s mean you need to buy an EVF. Also that’s provided your evf is giving you a satisfactory result. Honestly, I prefer having control over how the screen looks then get a factory set color on it
@avarmadillo
@avarmadillo 3 жыл бұрын
@@THEDPJOURNEY We have to work with what is given. I did not buy the EVF to match with the screen. I bought it because I like using EVFs---especially hand held shooting. The EVF is not a work of art in the 6k pro, but it's decent--worlds better than the EVF of the A7III---which I found to be horrible, and an LCD that is little better. Anyway, after the 7.3 update the screen is much better----after all, what comes out of the camera is really what matters, and the robustness of the clips provide a LOT of latitude for work in post---so, for me, the blue tint of the LCD was a tempest in a tea pot----meanwhile almost no one says squeak about how terrible the means are that Sony has provided, terrible screens, cheap build, horrible peaking, bizarre looking colors---unusable...but don't get me started.
@THEDPJOURNEY
@THEDPJOURNEY 3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha.. yeah about all SONY. And yeah Matching screen to EVF would work again if the EVF is offering good result and of course provided you’re planning to buy it. Thanks again for the comment

It's sad that they've given a "pro" HDR display compared to the previous 6k, but with such horrible calibration tools. They should atleast given us the numerical values of the Temp-Tint so that we get a somewhat accurate WB of the screen, reliable to judge WB of the scene. Hope BM listen and add this feature.

@@THEDPJOURNEY Yea, I'm just more surprised that these cameras passed QC in the factory. Looking at how other cameras in that form-factor handle monitor calibration, the tools BMD have released are standard so I wouldn't really expect much more from them for just a camera viewfinder. Still, you should really only use the viewfinder for framing and use a metered white-balance on a greycard rather than trusting any dialed in kelvin value. There are a surprising amount of (even professional) cameras, bi-colour and WWRGB lights that have wildly varying ideas of what kelvin values are. The only reliable tool is shooting raw with a chart/card trusting the scopes in post.
