Imagine if Apple added all the requests in one update... After about 2 years people will complain the phone is old and hasnt had any updates. Can't please anyone
@THEDPJOURNEY20 сағат бұрын
The challenge with Apple is that it’s offering a device that its primary purpose is intended as a smart phone, secondary as a camera… 2 very different mentalities to please. Also it’s not about what they offer as much as how they offer it. Like how they gave us 120p but only on The 24mm. Good to have but with annoying restriction

wow great work, - so well explained. I would also add something that nearly NONE of any reviewers say about heavy motion .. like leaves in the wind, ripples on the water. That's where you can clearly see a HUUUUUGE difference and compression is showing obvious signs of awful artifacts all over the place. that's because there is great amount of movement in the scene and compression is just too much. Apple should give us options of the bitrate. I would recommend at least 120Mbit - and 150- 200Mbit would be great for typical 4k resolution.

The explanation so far (11 minutes in at the moment) is absolutely INSANE. I love this so much. As a technical person, I LOVED your explanation which distills it down to even those who get a little overwhelmed by the information. Thank you so much for this. I was curious if the raw sensor data would be in 12 bit via RAW when the camera manufacturers talk about their internal recording limits. (For example, I have an S5 Mark II which limits the 5.9/6K modes to 10 bit 4:2:0) - so if I understand it correctly, as it’s RAW sensor output, my newly purchased Atomos Shogun Ultra should do 12 bit once I unlock the ProRes RAW via HDMI on the camera correct? It makes sense, just want to make sure lol - thanks again for a fantastic video that wasn’t just well put-together, but THOUGHTFULLY put-together 👌🏾💪🏾

If you strip down ronin 4d to bare minimum weight are you able to use on rs4pro for the track function for waypoints on the ronin app? If not why doesn’t ronin 4d have this function and rs4pro does and is there anyway to track for repeatable shots?

This has a massive flaw, it has gaps in the filter which lets light leak and cause unwanted reflections, I appreciate the effort but adding tape just isn't intuitive. this DIY costs the same if not more than smallrig or neewer cases anyway and those don't leak light, you can still use your own NDs because they offer a 67mm threaded ring anyway. I apreciate your effort I love DIY I build a portable battery out of an Ebike for running my LED lights but sometimes DIY just doesn't do it.

No need for 32bit audio.
@THEDPJOURNEY11 күн бұрын
It’s like saying “no need for RAW”. Something that doesn’t apply to everyone but is definitely needed in most (if not all) professional scenarios
@axelfoley176810 күн бұрын
@@THEDPJOURNEY what you're meant to say is... it's NOT needed in most professional scenarios. RAW for photos is needed for post-processing since it allows non-destructive editing before converting to a printable file, yet RAW is not needed for video. ProRes 422 HQ is not RAW is it? I'll ask you, did you ever hear crunchy sound due to 16bit audio from the last 42 yrs? Nope! Believe me it's not that I've settled for 16bit audio, hell, audio has gone downhill from there since most audio compression codecs downgrade the sound one way or another. But I can assure you that 32bit uncompressed audio is overkill, a total waste of time. Similar to comparing ProRes 422 HQ to RAW, the RAW is overkill, unless a video house demands it for their own reasons. But I can't see what those reasons would be unless for archival pedantics. Anyway, bits in audio is not analogous to codecs for photo & video. That's my point 🪂 I assure you that 32bit audio is definitely not needed in most professional scenarios unless a client demands it for some strange reason. 32bit audio is just for people who don't know about audio & are being pretentious or employing it just for the hell of it out of ignorance. Nothing wrong with using it, fine go ahead, but it's also gonna put massive strain on the camera's/phone's CPU, especially if you're at big sampling rates like 384kHz. But audibly it's a waste of time.
@THEDPJOURNEY10 күн бұрын
@axelfoley1768 Actually my analogy to video was not super accurate, simply because 32 bit float has the solution to the one major issue every none pro audio recordist suffer from… that’s adjusting levels and preventing it from clipping. So 32 bit is more useful actually to none audio specialists than it is to audio specialists who do it for living. When I’m shooting with my camera, I have tons to worry about to retain details and highlights, prevent shadows from crushing, focus, etc… I don’t want to add another item to worry about such as proper audio levels and audio clipping. And for people using iPhone for filmmaking, they are the perfect segment that needs a hassle free solution that doesn’t add more challenges to them. That’s why you can see how so many filmmakers ignore audio all together and just add a music track to their videos and call it a day. And when they want to go advanced, foley would just be easier than field recording.
@axelfoley176810 күн бұрын
@@THEDPJOURNEY I misunderstood your aim. I was talking about audio 'quality'. Your scenario is a different matter. But I think you misunderstand. 32bit float is an internal processing method, it's good for audio production engineers bc it minimizes cumulative rounding-errors when utilizing lots of audio-effects & constant bounce-downs. It has nothing to do with dynamic-range (relative to clipping). Since you're aim is to avoid clipping (audio distortion) when recording, then it's a different matter. A Boeing 747 jumbo jet engine produces a sound level of around 140 decibels when measured at close range. A 24bit A/D converter can handle it without clipping. You think 32bit is for convenience so that you won't need to set audio-levels, but that is misleading, since really it's more important to check the dynamic-range spec of your A/D converters. There is a problem bc people think they're recording at 32-bit, but it's just 32bit floating-point calculations internally, having nothing to do with dynamic-range.
