Hey Matt the pocket hole king. Have any tips to keep the pieces from moving when screwing? I’ve tried a face clamp and it still happens. Tried screwing in slow/fast and I had a one hole piece so I couldn’t use the hole clamps either and the piece still walks off of flush.

Very new woodworker here. I am really struggling to with my pocket holes because the wood keeps splitting when I drill the holes. I am trying to drill pocket holes down the length of 1x4 whitewood (very soft wood) and the pocket holes come out terrible. The wood splits terribly. When I make pocket holes on the ends of the boards they come out great. But when drilling them along the edges they are completely blown out and split. Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks!

Hey man, love the videos. I'm new and just purchased my first pocket jig tool. My Dad has a small Kreg but I went all out and picked up the Massca Pro M2. Might as well, I'll end up with it eventually. But I have a very important question. How did you get your Massca in Gold??? I didn't get Gold. And on a less serious note, what if I'm drilling a 2x4 into a 3/4" piece? How do I adjust for that? I see everyone showing how to drill into the same size pieces but not different sizes. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Take care. Well the end of the video is playing. Heard the bad news on the Gold piece. What about those measurements?

@@davidcorliss I’m inclined to disagree for the fact that I’ve NEVER bought anything from HarborFreight (except my predator 6500 generator) that felt even remotely structurally sound. Thanks Matt, good tips as usual. I have always heard to not use pocket holes when joining two pieces that the width (assuming the grain runs the length) of the pieces are not: a) parallel on the same plane (like a table top) or b) perpendicular (table leg) The reason being because of expansion and contraction causing splitting. The exception being plywood. Is this true?
