As I remember, the amp hours are increased when the batteries are hooked up in parallel... not series. I use a lithium ion battery pack on my Pocket Mod.

This now has a 12ah battery which lasts much longer

Is there a way to do this without welding? I'm going off all KZbin and hand tools here 😅 got the batteries switched out. but now I decided that's not enough either and need a little more oomph.

We did the 36 v upgrade and it has no more power than it did when it had just the two batteries because one battery has to go directly to the controller

I suppose you could bolt the motor on the the plate. 48V is definitely enough power for kids. For adults I would do the 72V

@@mosquitonkosak did you wire one of the batteries directly to the controller or did you wire the batteries directly to the motor? We lost twelve volts because we had to wire one of the batteries directly to the controller

The scooter can go faster if you install a larger sprocket on the motor and/or a smaller sprocket on the wheel. I'm going to change to a larger sprocket on my motor so I can ride at more than 15mph.

We just did this upgrade on my son's Pocket mod and it has absolutely no more power than it did when it just had the two batteries

That makes no sense. 48v with a bigger motor should work. Unless your power controller is bad or needs to be turned up.

Late to the game but thats not 48v at 36ah for tgat battery pack. Its 48v at 9ah because wired in series the voltage is combined but the ah stays the same as each individual battery. If you parallel the 4 batteries then you would combine the ah capacity to 36ah but you would only have 12 volts. Its kind of one or the other.

I have a razor pocket mod I'm thinking about installing two of the 1000w electric motors Just not sure how id wire up the second esc to the motors I have 2 48v battery packs But yeah the second motor I'll be upfront I'm just looking for some ideas if anyone knows how too electric motors can be used with 2 different esc thanks

I dont think wiring up 2 motors is a good idea. Both motors might not go exactly the same speed and it could end badly. Also the controller is only wired for 1 motor. You would have to put 2 of everything on the scooter.

Did you end up keeping the original brake? How did the wiring go with adding a light?

Man that's what I was thinking. There is room to move it forward. But maybe better to just add 1 link back in. To keep it neat the middle of that track. Also a generic bmx chain tensioner would work great on that to have perfect control of the adjustment.
