I've had my Nexus 4 since January - put it in a nice Nilkin case - it still looks like new - still happy with it - rooted and installed the replacement radio ROM for LTE - and it's smooth and fast as I could ask it to be... no reason for me to upgrade it now, I'll wait to see what Google come up with next October.

I owned the Nexus 4 and I utterly loved that phone, it did all I wanted it to - add to the fact its excellent price and top of the line specs and I was instantly sold! Sadly, mine got broken. But I loved the Nexus experience so much I went ahead and brought the Nexus 5 to replace it! It really is the upgraded version but I think it still has enough of a comparable experience to the 4 that I felt at home with the transition - like moving into a new home, but having your family and friends there to greet you. I love both and would recommend either!

I want to note that I had my Nexus 4 for almost a year dropped it several times (each time slowly picking it up with dread) in the case and twice without and had absolutely no damage to either my front or back glass as did my cousin. I wanted to upgrade because I hated the camera of my N4 but couldn't justify it enough until I lost it last month :((( This article helped me decide whether to buy another N4 or upgrade to N5. Nexus 5 all the way!

I don't think this video does a great job of comparing the 2. How about performance? I get the feeling the nexus 5 is exactly the same because my 4 has no lag. Does the higher resolution make much difference? I'd like to know since its been said the human eye can't see higher than 300 ppi. Personally I think the 5 is too minor when I'm completely satisfied with my 4

OK boy was I wrong about screens. I now have a nexus 5, and the screen difference between the 5 and 4 is ridiculous! Can't see pixels either way but the 5's screen is a lot sharper and everything seems clearer and has more detail. And yeah there is a huge performance gain. The nexus 4 isn't a slow phone by any means but the 5 makes the 4 feel more like a nexus one. It's a huge difference

+Cory Wilson I use cm mod 12.1 and set the screen resolution as low as it can go and there is no difference except for speed. DPI will translate in print but not on the tiny screen . I'm sure scrutiny would reveal some sort of aliasing but for use it's a non issue to drop the resolution down.

I'm extremely satisfied in every way with my Nexus 4 but ordered the Nexus 5 for the display and camera. The Nexus 4 has been the best Android device so far and I regret absolutely nothing about getting it. I took good care, it's still like new! Can't wait for the Nexus 5 though as everyone seems to be quite happy with it. HURRY UP GOOGLE

También tengo una Nexus 7(2013) que tiene el mismo procesador que el Nexus 4 y maneja cualquier cosa que le tiro. Ahora, la batería y la cámara no son lo mejor en el Nexus 4 y el Nexus 5 es superior en ese aspecto, sobre todo la cámara. La pantalla también es superior (1080p) aunque la del Nexus 4 (720p) sigue siendo muy buena. Otra cosa que no me gustaba del Nexus 4 es que se calentaba demasiado incluso con cosas pequeñas, y al tener cristal en la parte de atrás también, se siente mucho y es fastidioso. El Nexus 5 corrigió ese problema. Sin duda alguna iría con el Nexus 5, es superior en casi todos los aspectos: - Cámara - Resolución de la pantalla - Batería - Procesador - Y por supuesto, tiene capacidad para LTE.

As a Nexus 4 user the improvements definitely don't warrant an upgrade unless you have money and time to spare transitioning. The next Nexus will however offer a lot more over the N4 and get my excitement for the series back. To me the N5 has no wow factor, whereas the N4s pricing scheme and the fact it was so so much more powerful than my previous phone jumped out at me. N5s pricing scheme doesn't have same effect on me this time in upgrade sense. Great comparison, particularly liked the narration / pace of it.

I came from an iPhone 4, but i have used an iPhone 5S before. I got a Nexus 5 two days ago and i haven't had any lag spikes yet. Fastest phone i have ever used!! And for $10 with a contract (for Sprint, Amazon.com) you really can't go wrong!

that's it im switching to apple, google didn't upgrade the galaxy nexus to 4.4 kitkat which is sad for galaxy nexus users, my nexus 4 is not getting the same launcher as the nexus 5's kitkat, and now talk about fucking up the youtube comment section you can't comment if you don't have a google + acct. and now your notifications are going to the google + acct. and not to your youtube inbox! that's it im tired of google ruining everything they can't upgrade their freaking devices right not like apple ios 7 still supports the iphone 4! google is promising to roll out kitkat to other devices when they can't even get the roll out for the nexus devices right!

Yeah try running iOS 7 on the iPhone 4! Half the features in iOS7 won't work and the other half make it almost unusable. You want to use a new OS, then get a new device. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the Galaxy Nexus running 4.3 - mine runs perfectly fine. If I want all the new features then I'll get Nexus 5! Like if I want a stylus enabled phone then I'll get the Note 3!

Contrary to popular believe, apple is willing to make compromises so they can claim that older devices as old as the iPhone 4 is still supported. That's not the case with google. With google, it's a different compromise. Sundar Pichai said on his Google+ comment that GNex isn't upgraded because the chipset vendor isn't on the mobile business anymore, so there is no new drivers for kitkat. They have done their best to try to upgrade it, but it seems that upgrading the GNex will only hinder it's performance. They will not blindly upgrade it just so you can't complain that it isn't upgraded. They thought a lot about YOU. That being said, I'm sure the modding community will not give up to bring kitkat to the GNex, just like they brought 4.2 and above to the Nexus S, which pretty much makes it feels like a slug. That's why we (former Nexus S users) are not complaining about not being upgraded.

I like my nexus 4, probably will hang onto it for the next release which should be juicy with more ART features and of course upgrade on screen and storage. Great review as always though, I'll say I do manage to get decent photos but the camera definitely isn't the greatest, also so far no trouble with a cracked back, although we'll see in a year from now.

I own a nexus 5. Got to deal with two replacements. Currently using my third N5 and still surfacing the same annoying problem - there's a brighter and warmer stripe on the bottom side of the screen, visible when in full screen or landscape mode (action bar normally hides it). What would you do if in my case? Ask Google for one more replacement or ignore this "unusual feature"?

Nice video Pocketnow.. Personally, I've had my Nexus 4 about 6 weeks now and I'm loving it. I knew the 5 was coming and I moved on from an S3. A good price for the Samsung and the Nexus 4 at discount price (£199) was a good move.. I appreciate the specs are better on the 5 but honestly the 4 is excellent. Never misses a beat and running Nova. And the 4 seems easier on the eye and good in the hand. I guess if money wasn't an issue I'd be ordering the 5 just for the hell. But, I can't help but think it's just gadget lust.. Oh gadget lust! Anyone else rocking a 4 feel the same? And that iPad 3.. About time I moved to an iPad 5.. What d'ya think?

I'm surprised that there was no mention of the horrendous new volume & power buttons. They're really the only things I dislike about the N5.The N4 buttons were smooth & unobtrusive. The N5 buttons are sharp & always in the way. I'm forever accidentally changing my volume. This never used to happen on the N4. The back of the N5 is what I expected to be on the N4. Not as "pretty" as the glass back of the N4, but nice to hold, & relatively little smudging. I'm surprised that there's still no micro SD slot on a flagship model (I bought mine thinking it had one, I even bought a 64GB SD card specifically for it before it had arrived), & I only found out today that there's no IR Blaster any more (so no using the N5 as a remote control device), in spite of KitKat supporting it.
