While I admit the line can be a little blurry, I hesitate to call this a remake. The two opening stages are re-creations of the first SNES games yeah, and some familiar enemies do re-appear, but the story makes it clear that it is a completely new storyline, and most of the stages are brand new.

I imported it. They can take their censorship and shove it. Game is fun but difficult. Be prepared to get the game over screen a lot.

I can't read japanese therefore importing it is a no-no for me. Guess I'll never play this game, it sucks but I won't support the retarded censorship

It’s old school Nintendo hard with the censorship to go with it. Only on the portraits though. I was more surprised by the unaltered sprites.

By the way, the censorship was only adding an extra image to the portrait. The rest is intact, and could be reverted if one dared to jailbreak their system. But at that point, one can just buy the PC version instead. Or the Japanese version, if they don't really care about the story.

I definitely imported this physical. I was honestly suprised by the completely pointless censorship on the western version. Bad decision as far as I'm concerned.

This game is kinda like Cuphead in that it has really nice animations but it's brutal. Also I have the import version so idk if it's like this in the American version but you can't play 2 players coop without beating the game first

It's really not a brutally hard game. I beat the game in 1 hour 40 minutes with maybe 10-15 game over screens. Use the deflect button (B) often and it's much easier.

I feel like the controls of this game are way too punishing, I wish you could play it like a twin stick shooter it would make it way more enjoyable imo.

Didn't see the need to cut 4 bosses out of the game from it's SNES counterpart that I was looking forward to seeing plus the massive difficulty spike in comparison made it rather unenjoyable. The new bosses weren't appealing and the black mantle fight felt underwhelming. This game could benefit from boss rush and stage select modes.

It's a little bit of a challenge, but use the deflect button (B) often, and it makes the game much easier.
