I think if Poco with the line up of Furay, Cotton, Young, Schmitt, and Grantham just came out today that they would dominate the new country charts. They were way, way ahead of their time.

These guys were great!! I remember my Dad buying the "Deliverin' " album, I've still got it,. He loved it, as did I. He's at death's door right now, and I'm gonna play it to him to try and rekindle some memories for him. He's been a great, patient father to me, and I love him, and hope this might generate a smile!

still great after all these years, Just not the intensity of the long haired years of the early 70s when they were so electrifying ,i saw them in 70 and 71 and they were so awsome,... great post

damn, I love this song-they were a wonderful band, and inspired a lot of others to 'come out of the closet', and love country-influenced music. Richie still kicks ass!

Back when the song first came out, if the Poco guys had pitched it to him, i think Buck Owens could have made this song a hit with his Buckaroos. I can hear a lot of Bakersfield twang in Jimmy's guitar playing.

Jim was good in Poco and you can clearly hear his early L&M playing in Poco.
