The yearly visit to Pocono Raceway has commenced. The past few years have given the NASCAR Cup Series fireworks and many are wondering and worrying if their season will be changed by the sold out Tricky Triangle.

Several parking areas became flooded, police and traffic officers had to shelter due to severe weather conditions, and an accident in the area as well. Pocono has stated they will compensate or make it right if you contact them.

I was there it was a great day even though my driver DNF'd! Stands were packed and they were flying by us doing 190 mph.

Traffic was bad, but not much the track could do about it. Can’t have staff out there during that storm. This type of stuff is why being early is so key for these races in small towns or rural areas

Yep, fully agree. We left at 9 a.m and the trooper about a mile from the track went to each car after the awful thunderstorm and let us know there was an accident as well as a lightning hold. I also want to add that when we left there was 5% chance of rain for the day, there was no way of knowing that storm was going to hit like it did.

Daytona and ‘dega may have the most dangerous racing, but Pocono might be the most dangerous track. Wrecking someone into turn 1 like that is WILD

The difference between Matt and Corey is Matt doesn't tear cars up. And Matt's stuff was words, everyone needs to stop being so soft 💯

Not sure how you can dislike pocono. Faster cars can pass, multiple strategies can be had, and racing is good. Zero clue. Yet you’ll like the Kentucky and Kansas races that offer less than pocono

Don’t diss Kansas like that, it’s regularly put on great races since 2017 or so.

kansas?? bro have you watched nascar recently?? pocono has grown on me quite a bit in the next-gen era, it's been a good track with this car but generally speaking this racetrack hasn't had a good record until recently, at least in the gen-6 era until now

@@nascarnational I have. The fact you can block a car with your wake 6 car lengths back is bad racing. It eliminates pit strategy and tire conservation.

@@Nnubbs i hate the airblocking too but it's so much fuckin worse at places like dover, hell kansas is far better under those circumstances because at least you have room to do something. at dover, the corners aren't even wide enough with the current package to supplement that. besides, tire conservation-- even with a car like the next-gen that relies on the right-front-- at kansas is a big deal now and has been for YEARS. there's a reason everyone loves those races, it's because you have to save. pocono is nothing like kansas, it's not as good in the next-gen era, although to its credit it has come remarkably close based on its gen-6 record. today was not what i wanted to see, i think what we got last year & in 2022 in terms of the on-track product was simply better

@@nascarnational I’m not sure what you wanted to see that you didn’t see. We got passing, diverging strategies, and the best cars getting through traffic.

Traffic was absolutely fucked. On a normal day it takes me 35 minutes to get there...today over 3 hours. Got to my seat 7 or 10 laps in. Could've been worse
