Housing. It's a supply issue, not a demand issue. Fix housing by: barring corporate ownership of single family homes; restricting single family home zoning; and ending all tax benefits for 2d/3d/4th homes - triple tax them -- we do not need the proliferation of short term rentals. Housing is an allocation/distribution problem, not a demand problem. A third of my neighborhood homes sit empty 6+ months - and my HOA bars short term rentals. Open these homes up to single and double family living and we'll have a community again.

@@averyd2827 That doesn't make any sense. There was no argument if it was good or bad; he'll, there was no argument. Just point out these are pretty centrist views in the world scheme of things.

Is Jon confused? A grown man with no income who is living in his parents' basement IS homeless. He just happens to have a gracious family. Listen, I make 120k a year and I can't afford to live comfortably on my own with a young child. This is a serious issue and the cities are failing because of it. I could move to Iowa with 120k a year and live like a king but in the city I live like a pauper. Yet there are few 120k jobs in the country, you are lucky to find a 25k job there. Yet eggs and gas cost the same in both places. This is the division in our society.

You are conflating the meaning of 'homeless' with status of being a homeowner or rent-paying tenant. If you live in a private residence on a long-term basis where you receive mail, you are not homeless.
