i miss back in the day when music had a heart and a soul - this song is praising God. I miss bands like this and the fray and other artists, just speaking from the heart. There is a distinct lack of existentialism in modern music - this song is one you can really feel. I need to buy a copy of this song- it truly is a gem and the writers / artists deserve to be rewarded for making such a beautiful song. I'm not even religious, but this song is a real carpe-diem.

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back to my school. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real, it's impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me; it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

I remember leaving out after evening church back in the day and a few blocks down we see a big emergency response to this car up on the sidewalk sitting on its roof after getting knocked out of the intersection by another vehicle it looked like. The car was smashed up enough that we didn’t realize it was my brother’s friend’s car who had literally just left the church before us and my brother had been in the car. So we kept driving and prayed for the victims totally unaware who they were. Like this vid at the end, they made it out alive! Some things have to be seen to be believed. Just like soon enough the whole world all of us will see God is not fake and neither is His love for who are His. May anyone who sees this comment be blessed by Yahweh in such a way as to be drawn to Him before it’s to late including myself daily

I’ve heard this song a million times since I was a kid. And just now, as a 33 yr old recovering addict, I just got the most intense chills listening to this thinking about how everyday I learn more about the will my higher power has in my life now and what it has in store for me. If you’re reading this and are searching, just know you’re loved. Just hold on. It only gets worse to get better.

30 year old, been off opiates since 2014. I know how you feel. I just lost my best friend and companion, the firs dog I ever raised. He saw me through the hardest time of my life. Last night I prayed he would visit me and he did. I don't pray for much, never given much thought to that but I'm thinking theres something out there. Either there's a god out there who knew I needed it or my little guy is still very much with me. No matter which way it is I'm a little more at peace.

When I was in my teens and early twenties I couldn't really appreciate the song. I've liked it but I didn't love it. After having multiple failed brain surgeries from tumors I come back to it and it's a whole different level of appreciation. I got so far down the hole after my surgeries with depression and heavy medication. Try taking my life a couple times. In the fall of 22 I basically had the decision to start using Street injectable drugs for the chronic pain. Most likely oding because I had no tolerance for fentanyl. So I went cold turkey. I told God if he was real and he wanted me to live I needed him now. It was excruciating pain almost worse in the brain surgeries themselves. The amount of medication I was on I should have gone to a rehab. I think of that passage in the Bible where God leaves 99 sheep for the one. And that's what it truly felt like and I was so happy that he hadn't given up on me. 2023 it was about cleaning my life up, woth mysel, with people and getting closer to God. I still deal with debilitating breakthrough chronic pain everyday, but my mental peace has never been better. And it's all because of the lord. 🕊️✨❤️

It's just a song, cool (with no real appreciation or feeling) but when God really gets a hold of you and you're in love with all that He is and not blind, you rediscover songs like this and feel them so powerfully you become a rock star playing an "air guitar" 🎸 in your mirror 😂😂😂 full of the passion of His love and truth 😍

@Daniel I was 12 when I watched this song on MTV, now 31. I remember it like it was yesterday. Nu-metal was a very big thing back then. Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Papa Roach, P.O.D etc. were on MTV all the time. Nu-metal is now a pretty much dead music genre. As for the time flew part - I'll go against the grain and say it didn't really flew that fast. It's been 20 years but really so much has happened and it wasn't exactly like it "flew". Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time. There were PLENTY of times during the last 20 years that I wished time could go faster, and never that it would slow down. You only realize the time that passed when you look at something like this, just because it actually feels like it's been e.g. 8 years since I saw this on MTV, not 20. It doesn't feel like 20 due to how well you remember it.

I was a teenager when this song came out. I was too proud to admit that I liked it cause me and my friends were "real metal heads" and new metal was somewhat shamed by my group of friends. I didn't really get the message either (english is not my first language and at the time I knew nothing about it). Early this year, I remember one night I had full of interesting dreams (don't remember what) and this song was playing in my mind when I woke up. It had been years since I had heard it. I decided to give it a listen and now it's a recurring thing for me. The energy level of this song is so beautiful, it raises my vibration to out of this world. This is what happens when we create with intention - our creations and their intention come for the good of many. Thanks POD!
