*So the way to combat nihilism is to emulate the archetypal hero character and give your life purpose by slaying the metaphorical dragon, or those who oppose what is good.*

I was raised mostly by my mom. Her philosophy was, when people act aggressively toward me, if I ignore them,they will lose interest and leave you alone. What actually happened was people would read "weak coward" and would act even more aggressive and violent. I am in my sixties and am just now pulling myself out.What can I do to maximize my life experience for the positive?

Well I’m 23 and female but I recommend JPs videos about naivety. They are God-sent in waking up to victimisation and passivity. Type in “Jordan Peterson naive” he also made a recent video with Robert Green the writer of 48 Laws of Power and that video is Gold too, talks upon similar topics and you’ll very much relate to Robert Greene’s anecdotes about his experience being a ‘coward’ it’s actually what motivated him to write his books.

@@alexandersutveckling8302 Yeah this has been an intuitive thing I do in the streets. Trying to ignore them is seen as weakness. You hold whatever badass energy you have and move on to your day like you're impenetrable. I'm not pretending either, they genuinely don't register as a threat even if it's 5 people. If they need so much back-up to feel brave what a bunch of pussies

46:16 so funny that "ideology" comes up, when so much of JBP's message feels like enshrined ideology. Maybe it's just me / I'm just not into his "order and chaos" model / description

What else would it be?
@BenjiFriedman Жыл бұрын
@@brendenmendez8945 I think what I was thinking a year ago was that he's so adamant and rigid about his mental model, like "postmodern neo-marxist" is such a Jordan Petersonism for instance, like he's created an ideology for himself; it's funny he says he's against something he's practicing. I think in terms of order and chaos it's the idea that order is good / the best and chaos is ultimate bad / evil, but I think he has tempered this occasionally where too much order can be a bad thing, and some amount of chaos is good

They seem simple because theyre being explained well. If you take every concept at face value then you wont understand anything. "Clean your room" has depth beyond literally cleaning your room but if it wasnt explained youd have no way of knowing without working towards the philosophical implications yourself. And if youre smart enough and have the time enough to do that then you wouldnt be watching this video.
