I laughed so hard at 13:42 and it also made me (re)realize that Jenna's so fucking grounded and real. Your eyelashes and everything about you are beautiful, regardless of if you use Latisse, no/some/lots of makeup, apply fake tan, or play with your hair color. I think that a lot of people originally clicked on your videos because of the girl in the thumbnail, but almost all have stayed because of the unbelievably funny, smart, and kickass content. I wouldn't be listening to weekly hour-long podcasts otherwise. It's dumb how I think about how incredibly smart and funny Jenna is, and how well Julien compliments her persona and create this dynamic in all of their videos, podcasts, and vlogs, and I decide to vocalize it now because of a failed glaucoma medication with eyelash growing side effects. Haha. I love you guys so much, and have helped me through a ton of rough patches in my life. Like Jenna said a few times, if you ever meet your idol, you just kind of stare and talk like an idiot. I haven't met you, but picture that the conversation would go something like this. Haha thanks again for all of the laughs and videos!

Jenna and Julien, I just wanted to let you guys know that the podcast channel is really kind of weirdly special to me. I love all your channels, and what I know of you two as people, but this channel just really does it for me, and I wanted to thank you. I've been through some really rough times lately, and all I wanted to do when I needed to stop crying (after 6 straight hours) was watch the podcast and listen to you guys just talk frankly about your lives or whatever you wanted to talk about and be goofy together. I so look forward to Mondays, Wednesdays, vlog days, and every other day that I get some time to feel the energy of "it's all going to be okay." When I felt extremely alone in dealing with something tragic, it felt like you two were my friends and were rooting for me, even though I don't actually know you and you don't actually know me, and I could watch you two doing what you loved and being happy, and know that it will happen for me, too, one day. I know we aren't actually friends (I'm not delusional), but thank you for making it feel like we are, for reminding me that I deserve to be happy in whatever way I choose to be, and for letting me and everyone else in on a little slice of your lives. Thank you.

We'd play this game called "Princess Ouch" and would spin/wing it at each other and the first person to say ouch after getting hit lost. Our house was set up like a race track, with four narrow hallways around the central living room, and the joy of chasing my brothers around the house with this pink fairy girl toy is immemorial. Worst: Apple TV. This thing is basically pointless now, especially with a PS4, iPhone, and Macbook.

I actually just bought one of those face brushes (merry Christmas to me!), and have been using it for about 3 weeks. So far, I freaking LOVE it! But that might be due to my specific skin-type and such. Best purchases: That face brush; my aunt got me these honeycomb drawer organizers for Christmas. so I didn't buy them but they are the best...I'll probably buy more; The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up got my apartment so clutter-free and organized; the generic, non-Sony brand laptop charger that has lasted longer than the original charger. Worst purchases: A small (2-cup) food processor that immediately broke and leaked everywhere the first time I used it; those razors that had/have the soap around the blade, so expensive and they don't last long and then give you mad itchy razor burn; a wooden bird cage that apparently had some sort of finish on it and killed our first set of parakeets.

i have a face brush and i love it. i use it with purity face wash and with that being so gentle the brush just gives me a little mini exfoliation everyday its great. one of my best purchases was one of those little grabber tools that give you 3 feet of extra length to grab stuff and it completely changed the game. no longer do i have to worry that something is lost forever behind the washer and dryer i just *boop* grab it from behind with my grabber its incredible and clutch as fuck. another best purchase would be classic crocs. no explanation needed. theyre good for every occasion.

Flat shoes are the best for your feet. The only reason they make your feet hurt is because we learn to walk wrong now because of how shoes are made. Most shoes with 'support' in them don't let our feet move how they naturally should, and encourage us to walk on our heels. As humans, we are meant to walk on the balls of our feet (which is what we can do better in flat shoes), and when we go back to walking like this your foot is using muscles and moving in ways its not used to, so it causes pain. The concept of 'arch support' and trainers were invented my marketers in the 1970s, luckily a lot more people are moving away from that now (especially as now theres generations of people who suffer from foot and tendon problems as a result).
@Sianothis8 жыл бұрын
Can you please explain more of this?
@IsabelleLily8 жыл бұрын
I believe I learnt the most about this from the book 'Born to Run' by Christopher McDougall, so you should read it if you're interested. Essentially the point he makes is that humans evolved without modern shoes (with stuff like arch support) and so our feet and their muscles are designed to move and work in certain ways that generally reduce impact. When we wear things like modern trainers, they force the foot into an unnatural position that doesn't allow for natural movement (I'm sure you've noticed a difference in how you walk barefoot to with trainers). This is one of the reasons that a lot of the newer nike trainers in the last few years have a wider, flatter toe. The discomfort a lot of people get from wearing flat shoes is generally caused by their feet trying to work in the same way it would if there was arch support etc, and not how it naturally should on flat surfaces. Obviously there are exceptions to this, but once I retrained my feet I found that a lot of my tendon related running injuries improved, and I actually find it a lot easier to run faster too :) I hope this helped, and you should definitely read the book if this sort of stuff interests you
@computer_juice7 жыл бұрын
Isabelle Lily I never used shoes with arch support or anything in them, all my life I've worn flat bottomed shoes because they're cheaper and I've never had the kind of money to buy real running shoes. I'm a cashier and working in flat shoes was hell. So I saved up and bought actual running shoes with slight arch support and shock absorption and all that jazz and I find my feet don't hurt nearly as badly so... maybe not always? But idk foot problems kinda run in my family so maybe I'm just weird

Thundershirts can be really awesome. We had a sheltie who was TERRIFIED of storms. Thundershirt was the only thing that helped her even a little. And my little rescue pom wouldn't ride in the car until I got her one. Well, she WOULD ride, but she would shake and pace and drool and cry. So, I'm sorry they didn't work well for Marbles and Kermit, but maybe anxiety and an outside stimulus causing it isn't their issue. Or maybe they're just weird.

When I was between the ages of about 6-11 I was obsessed with virtual worlds. I loved them and would play them constantly. However there is always some things that you can only buy with your real money that gives cool privileges. I just wanted to have no restrictions so I would spend any allowance or birthday money? anything I got on webkinz furniture and club penguin pets and igloos and shit like that. Then I realized that I was buying all this stuff with real money then literally just staring at it because it serves no purpose. I have had so many dwarf hamsters in my life and I just love them. They're so sociable and friendly and all of mine have been so sweet (and all my syrians too) and I remember getting so sad and upset when each of them died because they were my little buddies and now I feel bad if I ever see hamsters because I want them but they don't live long. My longest living hamster though was my first dwarf called hunni who was so sweet and she loved for 3 and a half years, she was amazing and I still love her.

I didn't even realize the whole Clarisonic thing until I JUST NOW saw this. I actually love mine and still use it...but I'm kind of mad I got tricked into buying it and didn't know 😂

The oil sprayer is the Misto and IT SUCKS! We go another one for our wedding and it works great, but the Misto specifically sucks. It fell behind our stove like 8 months ago and I have not been motivated to get it.

Best product of my life: PopSocket attachment for the back of phones. I seriously thought they looked so stupid when my cellphone store got them in but they sent me one to try and I EFING love it. Saved my life and is hooked since I have a 6s Plus and have tiny girl hands and like to also have a kickstand on my phone Also, the ThunderShirt for dogs I never bought into until I got a special needs doberman with a balance issue and he's strange and nervous because he cannot stop walking in a little circle all day unless you stop im and put his head in your hands. But I put it on him and he walks like normal and will chill out and lay down. I doubt it works for most dog behavior problems but I'm happy it worked for my dog

I use my spinning face brush thing still and it's mainly great for when you're having a really bad skin unbalance, whether it be zits, oily skin, dry spot. It really helps for whatever reason, at least for me.

I bought the Clarisonic because of Jaclyn Hill (who I still LOVE btw) and used it for like 6 months and my skin was AMAZING! I even got tons of compliments. Then one day... I realized ain't nobody got time for that!

wait by the brush do you mean a clarisonic? if yes then, yes I do still have one and it works really well. I have no acne.

Julien is seriously the greatest. He didn't care at all about that airbrush story, but he encouraged her the whole time. It was precious. "It's just a roller coaster of emotions."

I'm late to this party, but YES to the Fit Flops! Sure, their stated purpose on toning your legs is probably BS, but I was all about them for the same reasons as Jenna. I've got flat feet (yay) but those things and their generic knockoffs are amazing for support.

I got a Clarisonic in April after wanting one for years. Honestly it's definitely improved the overall look and feel of my skin as well as helped get my skin to a much more normal state rather than oily. It gives my skin such a deep cleansing, the amount of makeup it gets out of my skin even after using makeup remover is amazing, and since the pros outweigh the cons (really the only con for me is having to buy brush heads) I have no problem using it for as long as I feel it necessary to keep my skin in the state that it is now.

I feel like for the interchangeable cleats instead of having the individual spikes themselves screw off, you could have like the bottom part of the soles unscrew so it's like all together lol

My parents bought us DDR and they also bought us the really nice mats. My garage was lit. We had some amazing dance offs. Also, my friend has a pit bull that gets really anxious when it storms or when there are fireworks going off. Her thundershirt is the only thing that calms her down. I can understand if it doesn’t work for all dogs, but it’s a lifesaver for her.

I don't know if anyone remembers that thing that they made look like a UFO you can control with your hands and it somehow defied gravity or something. But was actually just a cardboard sheet with fishing line.

For swimming, we get 'warm ups' which is pretty much just a windbreaker jacket and pants that we would have to wear during meets that helped keep us warm after warming up and between races. Kept us from getting cold. And best purchase: Getting 50-pound bales of timothy hay for my guinea pigs from farms instead of getting a tiny bag for $15 at pet stores.

I will say that I have a vanity planet spin brush and I have used it every time I’ve washed my face since I bought it over a year ago. I love it! It gets so much more makeup out of your pores than just your hands and it’s like a mini spa every night. I love it so much but I understand how it’s not for everyone.

I bought an oscillating face brush two weeks ago and so far I love it! I got it for $30 on hautelook and I'm so happy that I took the plunge! It's helped improve my skin texture and acne. My skin was really dull and gray before but now it's slowly getting more radiant! Now even with my acne scars I'm comfortable not wearing makeup in public.

Since you have foot arch difficulties, I suggest Phase 4 Orthotics, also known as WalkFit Orthotics. They are super cheap for what they do. I am surprised so few people use them or know about them. They actually reshape your foot to the way your foot should be shaped. They even have instructions on how long you wear them. While wearing them, it will feel as though you have a rock in your shoe. But only in the beginning. I gave a pair to a friend, and it aligned her ankle to the point of fixing her knee, ankle, and slight lower back pain. She just had to get to the last level of the adjusted support, and get through the initial ache of them fixing her feet. My first pair lasted over ten years, and they were around ten dollars. So if I am a lying shyster, it is not a big hit to your finances. If you get them, I hope they help. And look up a size chart for them. They are size categorized by letter, since the letter represents both male and female sizes. An example would be that D= Women's 8 to 8.5 and Men's 7 to 7.5. You can probably figure out your letter based on your super logic skills and my example, since it is correct information. Good luck in all you two do, and I hope you have/had a lovely New Years everything.

When I was a kid, everyone had those rollies, the shoes with wheels on them. and my mam said I could get a pair today in my town but they only had them in a size that was too small, or go to the city the next day and get ones that fit me. But I was a child and wanted rollies so I got them in a size too small cause I was excited and I grew out of them in like a month and couldn't even use them anymore..... :(

Agree: Fitflops and WetBrush Also, Dansko Professional clogs are amazing and I wear them everyday. Another flip flop with built in arches that are amazing and look more dressy- OluKai. They are fantastic. Also the WetBrush makes a version for dry hair that also helps give it a nice shine. Love all the WetBrushes.
