Love, love your show. You ladies really do a fabulous job. Nathan interacted with Lucas in the Mercantile when he was complaining about the crowd. So when Elizabeth comes in Lucas says with a straight face, Nathan doesn't like crowds and Elizabeth said surely at Christmas they are alright. But I really laugh every time I see that scene because it was similar to the bridal party scene where Nathan was complaining and Elizabeth walks up. I loved how Elizabeth and Lucas worked as a team to try and help Nathan. Lucas kept his father company and Elizabeth worked on Nathan and Allie. I like when Elizabeth is with Lucas he completely handles everything so she doesn't have any worries with Lucas. I love the fact that Lucas knows the writing world that's why he sent in a partial writing. We know Elizabeth would not have sent it in at that stage. Also Lucas always comes to Elizabeth early morning or in the day. The two times he came at night was not good for Elizabeth. Nathan always comes at night and goes in her house. The one time he comes in the day was not good for him because Elizabeth realized what she was looking for in him. Great show look forward to your next one👏👏👏👏👏❤

Really enjoyed this podcast. There was so much that you talked about that I, too, saw. What I really noticed is that when Lucas talked with Elizabeth, they usually had a nice conversation where as Nathan said a few words & would leave. After Nathan stopped Elizabeth to talk about the flowers he gave her, he said 'just want you to know I'm not one to shy away from competition'. He walked away & Elizabeth had a bewildered look....much different than when Lucas left after giving her his flowers. I think this is when she realized she had to choose one suitor. Also, loved Rosemary's toast to Jesse & Clara, 'It's not how many times you say I Love You, but how you show it.' Again, what Nathan did vs what Lucas does. As for Lucas & Elizabeth's trip to Union City, Elizabeth may have been nervous when they first left, but by the time they stopped to eat, Elizabeth became very relaxed. Lucas was great when checking into the hotel, Elizabeth didn't seem that bothered. As Elizabeth said, the trip was Perfect, Lucas was a Perfect gentleman. In New Possibilities, I did get a little concerned when Nathan visited Elizabeth & apologized for how he acted in the woods. At that point, Elizabeth did seem to have feelings for him. The next morning Lucas goes to Elizabeth & takes her to call the publisher.... Elizabeth is ecstatic! The next day, Elizabeth runs & hugs Nathan because she thought he had been shot! I still think in this instance, she is reacting & thinking of Jack. However, waiting for Season 8 was brutal, but the beginning of Season 8, calmed my nerves. The opening with Nathan asking Elizabeth to dinner, Elizabeth's expression was 'how do I get out of this.' Then later, Lucas knocks on her door & she's sssoooo happy...her whole face lights up. Lucas so sweetly explains how her running to Nathan effected him. She let's him know she's happy he's back home & would like to hear more about where he was when he has time. IMO, this is when she decides she needs to stop seeing Nathan & whether she's ready to admit it or not, she wants to be with Lucas. Sorry this is so long, but I just can't seem to keep my opinions to myself. 😀😉

I could not agree more, when she answered the door and saw it was Lucas her expression and smile said it all. I also loved the enthusiasm shown at the thought of seeing him again to discuss things further. Not at all like her interaction with Nathan. Don't stop sharing, I enjoyed everything Lucas and Elizabeth related, it makes the wait for season 9 a little more tolerable.

@@cynthiastewart816 Thank you. I have to agree. When Elizabeth answered the door & saw it was Lucas & when she said 'Welcome home,' her smile & eyes did say it all. I think I smiled through that whole scene. Oh my goodness, I can hardly wait for Season 9. My biggest wish would be that WCTH would air from December, with a Christmas show, through August. That would give the cast & crew a sufficient break & not such along wait for the Hearties between Season's. IMO, the show is sssoooo good, it will continue for several more years.....praying so, anyway 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏!!

@@cynthiastewart816 I'm definitely with you! The storylines of ALL the characters are so good. I had a hard time, at first, accepting Elizabeth & Rosemary becoming good friends because Rosemary was such a snot to Elizabeth & Jack, but now her & Lee are such a great couple & I can't see them not being friends. Even Gowen has a place in my heart. I felt pretty bad when Pastor Frank left the show & then Abigail, too, but now I'm one of those that hopes they bring Abigail's character back for Gowen. Yep, LOVE the show....could talk for hours about it. Have a good evening!

Well done ladies! As always😉❤ I like being able to listen to it first when the podcast comes out then hear it and watch yalls expressions when it's on KZbin. All of it was fantastic, of course, being that the subject matter was Lucas, lol. Thank you for pointing out that it is Lucas that is the "hero". At every turn throughout the past 3 seasons, Lucas has been proven to be the "bigger man". As Div and Blanca pointed out, Nathan's behavior was often rude, childish and entitled. Which only accentuated Lucas's humility. Lucas never lashes out. Lucas extends grace to Nathan....Any who...Ain't love grand!! Lucas loves Elizabeth so well! Their love story is captivating!❤

That moment when Elizabeth finds out she’s published & Lucas is there joining in her happiness, giving her credit… WOW… he wants to touch her so badly. You can see that he really wants to physicalize this moment. I just love it…

Home run, ladies! Can I say how much I love the fact that we're being completely honest about Nathan's behavior. Everything Lucas is (falsely) accused of, Nathan does. Brian Bird said early in an interview that they had to make sure the man Elizabeth chose would be worthy of her. I'm paraphrasing, "He'd have to be near perfect". Lucas has always been that "perfect gentleman".

Love how you all really, really breakdown the Lucas & Elizabeth scenes together....never saw all their interactions when first watching these scenes. I think it was a gradual buildup of her love for Lucas which increased dramatically each and every time they had scenes together. Thanks for sharing all your L&E thoughts...love it.

So totally agree! I just love that you ladies are so honest in you analyzing. Sometimes it's hard to say exactly what one thinks about Nathan without being rude, but he is a pouter. And he, himself, told Elizabeth that he doesn't back down from competition. He wants to WIN her for himself & to help with Allie! Lucas isn't looking at Elizabeth as a prize or winning, he looks at her with LOVE, wanting to make her happy & building a relationship with her & little Jack. It's hard because I love Kevin McGarry & Chris McNally as actors, however, I love Lucas & have a hard time tolerating Nathan's character. Maybe if his storyline changes & he gets a new love interest, he'll be more likeable. As a Mountie now, he can be rude & cocky.... & he's definitely not a Gentleman, IMO.

I also want to point out that Elizabeth showing Lucas her writing and short stories was huge cos the only person who seen them was Jack. Her first love and now her future lifetime love sees them and encourages her and inspired her to write a novel - She did it. Her dream is being fulfilled by her two loves. Also in the here’s my two favourite ppl he says to E and LJ. He also gets to know she loves surprises

Love the podcast!! I have two things to say. First of all I think that its obvious that Elizabeth starts to fall in love with Lucas in that last episode of season 7. Before that she seems to be encouraging Nathan to make a movr and ask her out but he doesnt. When Lucas asks her to celebrate with him in the library she givrs a big smile and doesnt hesistate about it. And then in the library she allows him to treat it like a date and when she turns to him at the end she is fully engaged. After that seen Nathan finally gets thr nerve to ask her to dinner and she doesnt say yes! She is now feeling involved and attached to Lucas so she doesnt say yes to Nathan. She is already falling for Lucas at that point. ( I contend that the hug was nothing but her concern for a dear friend and a projection about Jack) Second of all I just binged watched most of Heartland and I got to see Kevin McGarry in a different romantic role. He is gorgeous and very sweet and I can see why fans love him. But I can also see clearly that the writers in WCTH made him a very pouty and unsocialble character on purpose. The character on heartland is not that at all. Kevin is a great actor but Nathan was not made tl be attractive to us. His character is sweet as a dad but off putting as a romantic lead.

I can understand why KM's fans feel frustrated with his role in WCTH. The writers has made Nathan character full of flaws. However, for KM's fans who crossover from his previous show to WCTH should take their frustration out on CM.

I listen to your podcast 2 wks ago and I enjoyed every moment as always. I didn't have an opportunity to comment at the time so I would like to now. I want to talk about Nathan, after all his attempts to intimidate Lucas and make him look bad in everyone's eyes were unsuccessful especially with Elizabeth. Nathan realized that he would always be quite a few steps behind Lucas in his pursuit of winning Elizabeth's favor, hence the deception, no matter what he did he could not keep up. Lucas always the gentleman in everything he does was just too much for Nathan to handle in a way that was honorable, he just didn't know how. Lucas being the class act that he is, is definitely a hard one to follow and Nathan in these 3 seasons was always way behind the eight ball.

So much of Lucas is communicating & action. Not to rag on Nathan at all because he definitely was trying to be respectful and take his time with Elizabeth but she actually points out to him that she had dinner with Lucas because Lucas asked her. I love that and that is very indicative of why Lucas was the right man for her. She is a grown woman who needs a partner who will openly communicate with her and who will go out of their way to show how they feel not just tell. Words are amazing but action truly does speak louder than words. When Lucas has that dinner with her when she’s wearing the blue dress and he saying “if this was a date“ he’s not forward, but he’s forthcoming. He does not shy away from expressing what he’s thinking and feeling, but he never wants to make her uncomfortable. He is a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. And unfortunately has Nathan been a little more open communicating and tried to have meaningful experiences with Elizabeth, we might’ve been looking at a different story outcome. So much of Nathan‘s activity revolved around Ally or Little Jack and so that just made it seem like Elizabeth was only useful in a family sense. I think what Lucas does so beautifully is remind Elizabeth of who she is fundamentally as a person. Isn’t that what all women want? To have someone who truly makes them feel seen, heard, and like they can be their truest self.

Lucas is a gentleman - he is the epitome of a gentleman. It's literally written in and shown time and time again cos thats who he is hence you be true to that as you write him in the show and verbally said. Those small group of ppl who keep nitpicking or being ignorant are having shipper goggles. And are purposely not getting pass it cos they like someone else ;). Thats how some fans sadly work and attitude in a fandom.

I just read some comments how Lucas needs to apologize to Nathan on season 9…like what on earth for??? 😅 It is really hard for me to understand that these people have actually watch the same show… What I found also pretty funny is how TN thanks E should have end up with N because they both have children? Like you are only a family man when you actually have a child…well then Jack wasnt a family man either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Apparently they also said Jesse should thank Nathan for finding him. I’m like they probably did but overall it’s his job, and that’s what he is paid to do lol. I haven’t seen Nathan say sorry to anyone about his behaviour and attitude every season. Nathan have a kid doesn’t make him a family man… he is still learning and to be honest his family isn’t exactly what i would call good example lol. Neither do Lee or Jesse have kids but they will surely make good family men and dad when they do just as Lucas will. Atleast with Lucas knows what family means and the appreciation for it.

I really love what you guys share with everyone. Need to say something about Lucas and the box of money he received with the fish. That was the money he got from cheating the crook from the poker game. He has saved it all and keeps it locked up. When he's getting it out during the robbery he says " it's all here ". That's why when he first received it and pulls it out, he stares at it with deep thought.

I loved this the first time I heard it on your podcast even better seeing your faces & the excitement shown on them for Lucas/Elizabeth. Did you guys catch the goof up the editor missed in episode Family Matters-scene in Neds store when Lucas approaches Elizabeth/LJ by the shelves- Lucas says Hello Elizabeth, Elizabeth says Hi Chris ( they kept going like nothing ever happened Lol) such love & chemistry between these two even their flubs look perfect !! Super Couples with this magical chemistry come along once in a lifetime for most actors !! I hope Hallmark is aware of that !!
