Thank you ladies for giving us one final Lucabeth Lounge podcast. It has helped me to be able to process my emotions in regard to the end of Lucabeth. You voiced my feelings throughout everything you all said. I did shed some tears as you all said goodbye to all of us and to each other. You will be missed!

Many of the cast and crew, especially the writers and producers, trashed the show and then went on to trash their own reputations with their awful interviews and social media communications. They have been deceptive, manipulative and have shown absolutely no compassion for the fans who feel betrayed. I think of our lovely bridge scenes and realize the show runner, co-creator and writers truly burned that bridge - for all of us. You helped me work through the disappointment and anger I felt at the end of the beautiful romance previously written for us. Looking back, I wonder if Elizabeth was ever really deserving of Lucas and the unconditional love he offered her. Certainly S10 Elizabeth doesn’t deserve him and I don’t even want him in a relationship with that person. Thanks for helping me gain some perspective on the season. All my best to all of you and the other Lucabeth fans! ❤

Lucas sacrificed everything for the town and not even one person from HV went to support him in capital city. He had to Celebrate his victory alone. And then they excluded him from Goldie 's christening. They treated him horribly. He is too good for the entire Town

Thank you guys for this, you guys are a bright spot in all the dumpster fire that was season 10!! Elizabeth is co-dependant with Rosemary which is part of her problem. She has changed so much in this season, she is unrecognizable, selfish, nosey, and she was always talking down to Lucas! I’m with you Div she doesn’t deserve him! I don’t think LS could write an actual love story, this whole Season 10 is a total rent con!!! All of the characters have been rewritten to be just mere reflections of themselves. They are all delusional and I’m not buying any of it! I sure hope if he’s hurt and comes back to HV to convalesce he doesn’t let her get close to him! THEY CAN’T BE FRIENDS! The other thing that gets me upset is LS saying Lucas was immature…she doesn’t know him at all. Nathan and Elizabeth are the immature ones in HV.

Your may be right. Chris outshined all with the exception of Martin and Hyland. Hyland is so darn cute!! What I cannot agree with or excuse is how the character of Lucas was assassinated in after the show interviews with Brian Bird, Lindsey Sturman and even Erin Krakow. The show and characters have changed so much that Hope Valley is not the magical comforting place to “call my heart” any longer. I have watched since S1E1. I set my DVD so I wouldn’t miss. It helped me get through chemotherapy. I became obsessed during covid. Purchased complete DVD series from the Edify store. Lucas helped me and I’m sure many others to heal from Jack’s tragic and sudden death. Lucas is more like Jack than Nathan could ever be. The only common I can with Nathan is the red serge, rides a horse well and leaves Allie like Jack left Elizabeth when work demanded. All obvious. I seem to be ranting which is not Christian or healthy. Lucas was patient, kind, thoughtful and friendly to all. He was a loner searching for a home and a soulmate. He finally found Hope Valley and Elizabeth. He sacrificed all for their happiness. They abandon him during the time when he needed their support. I know they voted him for him but ultimately wanted him to win so that he would save their town. He sacrificed his life and love for Elizabeth. She doesn’t deserve him. He would be better off with someone that appreciates his love and devotion. Elizabeth’s not the woman we all thought she was. Personally I think the show will end in S11 having the teacher and the Mountie ride off into the sunset like the book. It would serve them all if he stops Union City Holdings, makes Hope Valley the new capital city comes back to govern from there and transfers the Mountie and his blended family to a galaxy far far away. Lindsay is known for science fiction!! I just can’t imagine forgetting the out right lies from TPTB. I’ll support Chris’ career as I feel he was wronged and deserves my support as for the other actors consideration is for the “birds”. I have to live in the fan fiction story Hearts Healing Stronger check it out. So far the author has written 79 chapters. I’m hoping there is an update soon. It’s a Lucas and Elizabeth supported relationship which continues after S8 finale. It’s a lovely story check it out.

As a former devoted, loyal fan of WCTH it wasn’t only that the writing for season 10 was lazy and boring, and they assassinated the characters of the main couple, but that the real life producers, writers and actors of the show intentionally misled their own fan base. It was a complete deception of what they told us to expect. They have lost all integrity and credibility and can no longer be trusted, so I will not be watching.

This 100%. I actually loved Elizabeth’s relationship with both Jack and Lucas. I have watched since the beginning. Jack and Elizabeth was one of my favorite TV couples of all time. And then when Lucas came around, I liked her with Lucas even more. I liked it because it was realistic. It was slowly built up allowing Elizabeth to process her grief and move on. And I liked it because it was a contrast to the cliche idea they were pursuing with Nathan that “passion” exists by yelling in the street at your romantic partner. No adult outside a soap opera or an episode of Cops has screaming matches in public. And even more than that, the show has completely destroyed consent and the ability of female characters to know their own mind. Clearly, we are supposed to see Nathan as right for continuing to pursue Elizabeth when she told him she wasn’t interested and when she got engaged to someone else. That’s gross. And even grosser still is the way all the people involved in this show have acted like this was the way the show was always going to go. They have tried to gaslight us into thinking that what Lucas and Elizabeth had wasn’t real and it was always Nathan. I will never watch Erin Krakow in anything else again. And I am on the verge of canceling my Hallmark subscription altogether. I will be throwing away my DVDs of this show too. Thank you ladies for the thoughtful commentary you provided. It’s clear that you care more about the show and the continuity of it than the people working on it.

I was in disgusted disbelief at what I perceived as an unbelievable shift in storyline & quality of writing with season 10 under the direction of the new show runner. But, the dissatisfaction with WCTH had already begun with the addition of the young woman who was supposedly compiling historical research of past episodes of the show in season nine. I kept thinking that things were being said in interviews that were totally foreign to anything I had thought about episodes since season six, which is the season I became invested in the storyline because of Chris McNally. I’ve wondered if Chris’s magnetic portrayal of Lucas & resulting popularity was a problem for anyone, or the powerful online chemistry between he and Erin as Lucas and Elizabeth. The storyline & writing had been superb under JT’s leadership, & Chris & Erin’s portrayal of their characters as well. Their storyline was the main reason I watched the show. As to Lucas being the safe choice - how ridiculous!! There was nothing “safe” about the supercharged attraction between Lucas and Elizabeth. Nathan, the Mounty, would have been the safe choice! But, I’m not disappointed by now. I didn’t even watch season ten after the first three episodes. The writing was so poor that the acting even became superficial. I just wasn’t into it anymore. Frankly , I’m relieved. Even cancelled my paid subscription to my channel that carries Hallmark. I figure there will be changes in WCTH that will coincide with the direction Hallmark seems to be following in other shows. Done with following Hallmark, but I’ll catch Chris in whatever he does outside of WCTH, even if it’s Hallmark. He is a superb actor. He deserves good writing & good storylines. He has a loyal fan in me.😊 Gonna miss you girls!🥰

Ladies please reconsider doing more podcast. Support Chris McNally’s career. He deserves our respect and support. Think about doing critiques on his other projects. He’s shy somewhat of an introvert because of his shyness. Let’s show that we are not in agreement with the show creators, show runners, Hallmark and the actors (that supported) the lies and travesty presented in S10. I want to thank all of you for your podcasts! I always looked forward to them and I thank you for all the videos you posted. I got involved by binge watching the first 5 seasons and then I was hooked. Season 10 has been the worst--poor writing and producing. There were no real storylines and key characters changed to simply walking into a scene. Elizabeth used to be a strong, independent, courageous woman who this season was depicted as a selfish, narcissistic, small minded woman who played second fiddle to Rosemary. All of the strong women-doctor, pharmacist, business woman, and teacher were reduced to blithering idiots trying to fix each other up on dates! I have no respect for producer Krackow who did not fight for her character-disgraceful. I can’t believe how WCTH has been reduced to a cheap soap opera-- they have destroyed the heart and soul of the original show. I believe that they are looking to take WCTH off of Hallmark. I too will no longer watch. Love all of you! Thanks!💕

Sorry, I am still venting. But there isn't a decent story going on now apart from Henry. Everyone is protecting Elizabeth like she has been horrible wronged. I think Lucas had been feeling like he was getting tired of the only one doing the giving. He has needs as well. The thing that made me flip out was when everyone was encouraging him to run, and he asked Elizabeth if she was okay with it. If he won, they would move, even though kids know the governor lives in a specific place. Elizabeth then said, "You made the decision without discussing it with me." Lucas is really too good for the town. There is still so much I want to say, but I am moving on.

I have loved you ladies so much. Thank you. My take on the show is that the show has lost its heart. The women have become weak, and the town has become lackluster. The fact that Lucas and Elizabeth broke up, I could have lived with it because life happens. What bothers me is that everyone is blaming Lucas was at fault. To have the children hating Lucas and Elizabeth not clarifying it. Even saying Hickman is better at running the Q of H better than Lucas. The whole town isn't appreciating all the sacrifices Lucas has made for Elizabeth and the town. It feels like it had become the Stepford wives. Henry and the birth of Goldie have been my feel-good moments. To tell the truth, I would rather Lucas find someone who loves and cherishes him. He's a great guy. If Lucas hadn't run, HV would have become a ghost town, and Elizabeth would have to leave her little row house.

Although the writing made no sense and the characters were unrecognizable what really "Calloused my heart" was the awful gaslighting they did to the fans who sincerely believed they had moved on from teams and the disastrous triangle, they knew exactly how this all would go over yet chose to stir the pot and instead of being honest about it are being exactly the opposite of what they constantly profess to be a community of family! They have now made it a completely disfunctional family that I have no desire to be apart of after the unbelievable explanations in all their recent interviews! It wasn’t right. I think they had signs in eps 5-6 with Elizabeth complaining about not wanting a castle or leaving HV. Then, there’s a scene where Nathan is like, HV is where I belong is where my heart is, etc, I think to Elizabeth. His jumping from Faith to Elizabeth again is messy everywhere. 😓 Blaming Lucas for the breakup sounds like it having to be the man who is in the wrong instead of the woman, which is why she didn’t correct them. I think seasons 6-9 were great but 10 is total fanfiction for Nathan/Elizabeth. 🫣 She was running for him,seemingly heartbroken at the prospect of Lucas leaving town in season 8. That doesn’t sound safe choice. Then letting Lucas become close to Jack and even having the kiddo be a part of the proposal. My my my.🤦‍♀️😩

I have not watched season 10 since episode 6 and will not watch ever again. I can’t even rewatch the earlier seasons which I used to do prior to this. Div, I watch almost 200 shows kkkkkkkkkkkkkk and even so I was very disappointed, because I didn't think that like the other series I watch, the couple that I thought was endgame would end. Because WCTH does not have the ability to write creative stories. For example, I watched Grey's Anatomy for years and the couples are changed all the time and we managed to overcome it, because the stories are convincing, the traumas are convincing. WCTH is a sad joke about a protagonist who no longer convinces and is not really the values she preaches.

You talked about the HFR. I was there. One thing that bothered me was their was a young girl who brought these dolls. She had them dressed up as Lucas and Elizabeth. The entire room cheered. The panel thought they were adorable and took photos with her. She now feels like she was used and wonders if they feel any guilt whatsoever. In retrospect, they knew what was coming and they didn’t care.

I'm half way through and had this thought: I just wonder if Erin and Kevin's off screen relationship had something to do with the sudden change in direction? The two couples (Erin & Ben and Kevin & Kayla) are very close friends whereas Chris is a lot more private in his personal life. Just saying, polictics may have played a part.

I believe this may very well be true. Chris is quiet and shy where is Kevin appears to be a bit arrogant and outspoken in interviews. Chris is a dad in real life his priorities are being a dad to his daughter. Chris and julie are parents. Kevin & Kayla and Erin & Ben are still living the single couples life. Becoming a new parent you find joy and happiness in bath time, reading to you little one, rocking them to sleep and all those baby kisses and firsts. Joys and fun you once shared with friends are now different because being a parent the most important part of life.

Everything you said was exactly how I feel. I didn't even watch the finale and I have no desire to watch season 11. I'm still so sad and still feel very betrayed, but it is what it is and it's time to just let this show go. The one thing I will say, however, is how much it annoyed me that Elizabeth had such an issue with Lucas' grand gestures, but was willing to bend over backwards to give Rosemary everything she wanted when she wrote to the governor. I am absolutely with Div that Lucas deserves better than Elizabeth, and quite frankly, he deserves better than the people of Hope Valley, who never fully appreciated him. I started watching this show because of Lucas/Chris McNally, and it breaks my heart that not even he can keep me around to continue to watch this show. I will also say that I watched Chris' portion of the interview that he did with Edify after episode 11 aired, and to me, it looked like Chris wasn't happy about the break up, even as he tried to sell that he was excited for Lucas's storyline in season 11. This whole season was a dumpster fire, and while Lucas was continuously out of character, Elizabeth's character was completely assassinated. The only positive thing I have to say about season 10 is that Henry's storyline was the bright spot. Henry and only Henry. And that's all I have left to say.

Jillian what is really lazy the line “Lucas was a safe choice” came directly from Team Nathan/Kevin McGarry’s fans. The comments were posted on social media. Actually in 99% of their unacceptable nasty opinions about Lucas, his acting, attacking him personally, they commented negatively about his personal relationship. Not very christian like. This is what I just not comfortable giving them a second chance.

I am so so sad that this is your last podcast. I cried last week as if this show was real . I m still in disbelief what they did to this show. Thank you ladies for expressing what so many of us #Hearties are feeling. I too was not full in on season 9 but I was so looking forward to season 10. Sundays used to excite me….waiting for my favorite show. I can’t believe the writers, producer etc have made it into a disaster. I can’t get onboard with any of it. My beloved characters with the exceptions of Henry and the kids are unrecognizable. I can’t believe they made Elizabeth such a town harlot. They could have redeemed her in my eyes by having her tell the truth to the town that she called it off. I am just so disappointed in this complete dumpster fire Hallmark is calling season 10. It’s not season 10 it’s an entirely different show. I choose to rewatch seasons 1-9 of WCTH instead of moving on to season 2 of this whatever you want to name it show!

I am leaving quietly. I have no interest in personality changes and a woman who was supposed to be a rock of the community turn selfish, bratty, and pouty. Tramping on a man who she declared love to for two years. Allowed her son to become close. Lucas helped her in her desires she did not care about hers "even though she was so close she did not even read a letter he wrote her telling her where he went.". I don't have anger, I have severe disappointment and sadness. I am cancelling my Hallmark subscription and deleted all the shows from this season. Although I am very happy for Rosemary and Lee, and I love Henry and Bill.

We Lucabeth fans have been totally insulted with the Retcon of season 10. From the eyerolling when Lucas bought her flowers, to the horrific breakup at the train station. Our intelligence has been insulted. The production team lied to us. Erin Krakow lied to us with all her giddy giggly promotional interviews. What a lark. I have absolutely no respect for any of them. I can't even watch any of the previous seasons now, because I know who Elizabeth becomes. I've fallen out of love with Rosemary too. They dumbed down Bill Lavery. I'm so pissed, upset, revolted that they could do something like this, lying to all of us by saying there would never be a switch and then slapping all of us in the face. I hate injustice, I hate lies, I can't face any cast/crew members for cheating and the channel for allowing this to happen. Wcth is over as far as I'm concerned. I can't even watch the earlier seasons anymore. Completely heartbroken, even Jack 's death was easier to overcome. I stopped watching for 3 years, but I'll never watch wcth again. Messed up, right here. "If Elizabeth forgave him, we should too" ? Absolutely not. We're lucid. We see things as they are. We're not acting like a 15yo. Lucas has been there for everyone. It's true in the end : good people are taken for granted. No integrity for a "christian" channel. No wonder so many have lost faith in religions. They preach something but do something else Ok i'm done. Sorry about that. The emotions are still strong. I had to stop my IG account, that I loved and built for 2 years, it's unfair.

What is so difficult to understand is that Lucas was so much like Jack. Nathan is nothing like Jack personality wise. It’s also disappointing that Lucas was shown to be great with kids, Allie, Little Jack, school kids (especially the episode where he taught class for Elizabeth) and helping them comprise with the tourist regarding the hot springs. Nathan’s parenting is somewhat questionable. Allie was sassy, a bit selfish, sneaky and a little bratty. Nathan never tried to correct her behavior without Elizabeth. Nathan is pouty and so was Allie. What is now forced is how they have Hyland in more scenes with Kevin and Jada. There was a nice bond that had developed between Chris and Hyland on and off screen. Jack had said Elizabeth was the perfect woman. Lucas also said he would know the perfect woman for him and would wait as long as he had to to win her heart. Elizabeth is the perfect woman for Lucas. Such an embarrassment that TPTB completely destroyed such an enjoyable family show. It’s going to be difficult trying to explain the inconsistencies to grandkids that we watch with. This is shameful. Very poor writing. I really can’t see the show continuing much longer.

The spinoff started at the beginning of season 10. They weren't our characters this season at all. Certainly by episode 3 the worm began to turn and the retcon became a whole new story with the same actors playing characters of the same name but with different histories, ambitions, mindsets, and characters. Elizabeth is a despicable character now. Terrible. Lucas isn't our Lucas. He's a recon version of Lucas from a Team Nathan fanfiction. The whole new direction is a bad Team Nathan Fanfic gone live. Hopefully they don't turn Lucas into a predator like their fics do. But this truly isn't our story and they aren't our characters so I'm very comfortable in saying canon ends at 9.12 And they lived happily ever after. I will not watch this show again.

This has been my favorite season so far. I consider myself a Hope Valley fan, and there was wonderful moments with the townspeople. I'm sorry you were hurt in the last season. But I think you might enjoy it. Especially Lucas! They really went DEEP with his character. It was amazing. They brought Jeanette in and it shows how far he's come from and how much he has grown in grace, honestly, strength, and humility. Aww Ladies I'm going to miss you, I've ranted on Twitter about this illogical change for Season 10 Lindsey Sturman had one objective make this show about a Mountie and a Teacher again whether it was her idea or through Brian Bird's directive(he banks on the official WCTH FB page for his fan approvals-they're team Nathan) The fact that they made deragutory/mean insuinations in scene setups towards Lucas all through Season 10 is appalling- That Erin has condone it and the show's direction is unbelievable, hopefully I'll see you ladies doing another podcast of the same wonderful caliber, I've started watching Sullivan's Crossing on the CW it's pretty good and The Way Home is too on Hallmark if you need some new shows, Thank You for all your funny and truthful re-caps 💕

The new show writer has pretty much ruined every show she has been in charge of. We should not have given the benefit of consistent script writing. She doesn’t know what or maybe doesn’t care about the show’s history. The TN/KM fan base are nothing but bullies. They were horrible in the comments made about Chris, John Tinker and his wife Rhonda Roth. They even made unkind and nasty comments toward his relationship with Julie and the birth of their daughter. This is what is a cruel world Team Nathan resides in. You would have thought Chris’ friends Kevin and Erin would have stepped up and come to his defense. The only ones that showed any compassion were Kavan Smith and Paul Green.

Rosemary had no problem with Elizabeth moving when Jack was planning on building a home on the land he purchased. Lee even provided the lumber to Jack at cost. Have we forgot Elizabeth still owns that property. Nothing makes sense in season 10.

I'm sorry, I have to say some more. Lucas is probably the most mature in the town, along with Joseph. Then Lucas was a great father to Jack. Nathan was a horrible father until he came to HV, and everyone helped him. Lucas is friendly with everyone. Who is Nathan's friends? He's always alone when they have any kind of gathering. Now, Nathan is the reason little Jack lost his biological father and stepfather. How is that okay. The show doesn't have inspiration, love, warmth, and a sense of unity. It doesn't feel like a family show anymore.

I think its been stated by BB that LS made the change after episode 5 (from the JLJ interview) .. which is why there’s a disconnect within the season. I think Erin was definitely complicit in the decisions. I have seen tweets on twitter of people thinking since becoming EP she has been propping up her close group of friends: Ben, Pascale, Kevin .. Kayla next season with he teased love story in s11 (probably with Lucas) and Lori if she comes back too. Not sure Chris falls under that category.

I want to see a new season with a protagonist who has earned the public's hatred. Elizabeth became a tiring, boring and incoherent woman. It's ridiculous, I loved Lucas, but some people just don't stay together, after she said so clearly in season 8 that Nathan wasn't the end of her. On top of that, Nathan is a terrible copy of Jack without attitude. TN are insufferable and got what they wanted. Now they can swallow the show, because I'm not going to engage a show with mediocre writing where the protagonist and main couple are just plain boring and don't inspire me as people.
