Thank you Dr. Greger. I am always impressed with your up-lifting mood. It seems like you're always happy. I both love that about your image (how you come across) and intrigued at the same time. I want to learn how to do that instead of some of the frustrations I sometimes find myself trying to work through.

I always eat my fruit and smoothies with yoghurt. Probably consumed a ton of blue, black , cran and strawberries with yoghurt throughout the decades. Never sick, feel great and full of energy with perfect skin. But I guess I missed out on all the antioxidants lol! Not going to change. The body is alot smarter than most studies.

Dr Greger always mentions things to try that help prevent or heal health issues, but never discusses how to get quality safe products. Powdered strawberries? Natural cocoa? Cranberry powder? Many products shipped from countries with uninspected factories . His next book maybe could be "how not to find safe supplements"!😅

I was thinking similar. There are so many contaminants in our soils and I don't think farmers in the US are required to test because of the costs and potential liabilities. Does anyone know? So for cranberries I'm already planning to buy extra next fall and slice and freeze dry them. That should be better then powdered. Which is my hope.

I use the Life Extension company for the highest quality supplements at the lowest price, which also funds Ageing Research. I use Markus Rothkranz for my sustainable wild foraged or organic herbal formula needs. I live below the federal poverty line so I need the best for the least. I'm 66 and frequently mistaken for late forties, even by my new beau 13 years younger who was afraid he might be too old for me, and claimed to be 50, not 53, when we met. LoL 🌱 Whole food plant based is the fountain of youth, but additional wise supplementation of therapeutic dosages of targeted nutrients, herbs and spices is the longevity elixir

Very good idea to include nettle sauce and goutweed pesto in your plant-based, low-fat diet. You must also have good genes and exercise a lot, right? Because I've been eating a plant-based diet since 2016, but I still look old, which really annoys me.

The natural cocoa doesn’t worry me but all the other things do. Every time he talks about buying something in bulk I wonder where in the world it comes from and what policies or regulations they have to ensure purity. I’m too suspicious of all supplements being tainted or other than what they claim to be. I will happily forego any possible benefits.

You still haven't addressed the issue of DECREASED PROTEIN ABSORPTION as you get older: would then taking a VEGAN protein supplement, be efficacious in maintaining or building your muscle mass?
@k.h.6991
@k.h.6991 8 ай бұрын
I think Dr Greger would say something along the lines of: most people consume too much protein, so in old age, they're merely not consuming as much in access. In other words: stop worrying about it. Get exercise, eat loads of plants for their antioxidants etc.

The Dr. does look a bit frail for early 50s. And hair loss and graying has a health and diet factor. Face it, Dr. Greger is not, at least visually, a convincing spokesmodel for being an anti-aging guru.

Nutritional deficiency may impact both hair structure and hair growth. Effects on hair growth include acute telogen effluvium (TE), a well-known effect of sudden weight loss or decreased protein intake [1], as well as the diffuse alopecia seen in niacin deficiency [2].Jan 31, 2017 -From the National Institutes of Health

why did my blood pressure, A1C, fasting glucose, BMI, and blood lipids all optimize then? maybe try these things before you decide. perhaps you are 'addicted' to bad food and cannot face life without without your favorite foods. Foods are highly addictive and weak persons cannot change their diet.
