Podcasting without social media with Amelia Hruby

KZbin algorithm did wonders in bringing me to this video, as someone who is mulling over starting a podcast yet anxious about the 'need' to engage with social media actively. This was a very refreshing and, must I say, therapeutic, episode, thank you so much for you two for your thoughtful insights on this! Also agreed that Amelia has a very soothing voice, +1 on ASMR. :)

Ah yes, podcasting definitely has an element of social media engagement that helps with the growth of your show. But you can still build an audience without having to put all the attention on socials. I'd recommend if you're steering away from socials to promote, definitely use KZbin to its full capacity to get the algorithm working for you. For example, if you can video your show, definitely do that, but you don't have to start there. Your show notes, proper keywording, researching your topics beforehand for market fit and good thumbnails will all help you build without having to be a slave to the social machine. Don't let it deter you. Wonderful piano playing by the way. I went and had a listen. :)

​@@bambymedia Thank you so much for your advice! 😊 I'll definitely find ways to work natively with KZbin-- I read somewhere that it's advantageous over, say Spotify/Apple Podcasts, for the recommendation/engagement algorithm that the audio-only platforms come short in; something to be said about the inherent appeal of the visual medium of the thumbnails, etc. Excited to continue to see more insightful content on your channel as a new sub, and thank you for checking out my channel! 🙌🏼
