Nice shop.... I built my 2800 sf shop with radiant floor heat which for old guys is great laying on a warm floor :) Also sorry to say my shop has old Fords in it :)

I know this was three years ago but this would cost you triple to build it now. Great job

I was hoping to watch a video of how to build a garage.

Watch Ken’s Karpentry channel. He explains things. Watch enough and you will know all you need to know.

Awesome garage! What did this beauty cost?

What was the upstairs like when it was finished? What did you do to the flooring? Did you do a epoxy finish or paint it at all? This was a nice project but would have liked to seen the finished product. Is there another video? That is a different kind of exterior that you chose! I've never seen that on a garage before. Also those drains you installed are they large enough for that size of garage? The garage is incredible, I would love to have something like that, great job.

I would love to hear out opinions from the structural engineers. Whole front of the building is grossly under supported IMHO. Also, no rebars for concrete floor? No gravel layer for moisture separation?

That's the kind of dog house I need.

The garage is too long for one ridge pole. So, how do you connect 2 or 3 of them together without losing strength? Nice garage.....are you using it to store your cars or do you work on them as well?
@billmiller71385 жыл бұрын
Ridge boards are non-structural
@steventhury83665 жыл бұрын
The collar ties gave it strength. The ridge board is just something to nail the rafters to.

Even with 12in OC thats gotta be a bouncy floor

True... looks like they used 14" TJI-560's, which span a max of 29'6". They don't look like 16 inchers. Bummer if true, sucks to skimp on a few hundred dollars in the long run will bite you.

Not a good way to go with car fumes going up and into the house. Also noise pollution from below.

Everybody likes to show off how to build a shop but nobody wants to tell how much it costs. Must be embarrassed about the high price....

Around here (Washington State) Garages cost between $30 -$60 per sq ft. So this one would be $120 to $150k, Material & Labor with the finished upstairs living space.
