"My fierce friend" is replaced with the conventional French phrase for "my love". "Under a canopy of stars / where thought and truth divorce / in that latticework of dreams we are shameless" here is "under thousands of stars / where thought is not truth / in our dreams we are without inhibition" "Somewhere they cannot undo" is "an untouchable place". The only language I speak is English but the girl that I was with whom sadly are not anymore.. before she left I learned how to sing this song flawlessly in French and then one night I played the instrumental and she sat there looking at me smiling because she knows the song she thought she was going to get the English version. She didn't know that there was French version until that night. I'll never forget that night it was like it just happened. She put her hand over her mouth and I just watched as the tears roll down her face.. when it was over I asked her why specifically she was crying. She looked at me and she said.. nobody has ever sang to me let alone taking the time to learn how to sing a song in a different language. never in my life have I ever saw anything to a girl except at my wedding I saying Temple of thought to the woman I married.. aside from that I've never sang anything to a female. I sure did with this one. Every night it was something by Poets of the Fall usually it was Children of the son of fragile. I chose fragile because that girl has some serious abuses in her life. emotionally psychologically physically sexually you name it she's been a victim. And I know she has I've known who she was for a long time before we were together.. so fragile was very fitting for her. At any rate I think we're all blessed to have both of the Fall in our lives. I learned this song the English version first I'm in the United States so yeah English is my primary language.. but I wanted to learn something unique to be able to sing to my girlfriend I sing a lot while I used to sing I should say she's gone now but whatever.. I used to sing a lot of Poets of the Fall music to her and she loved it and then I learned this in French now I don't speak French I speak English and that's it. But after watching this version probably 300 times literally I got it. These guys never cease to amaze me. 15 months in recovery right now from opiate addiction and I've been listening to these guys since late goodbye came out back in 2003 I remember I first stumbled across it in Max Payne too a video game. Then I saw elsewhere in the video game somebody playing it on a piano and then when I beat the game I got to actually hear the song and I was just blown away by it and that did I was hooked you know I got to say.. saying thank you is a severe understatement I am blessed for being able to hear the voice of an Angel and the music of insanely skilled musicians and I am truly humbled. The music of Poets of the Fall has quite literally been a very very powerful tool in me reclaiming my life. It allows one to purge his or her soul easily.. I'm doing that now. I truly am blessed to have this music in my life.

I'm overblown with absolute pleasant surprise to find a French song by my all-time favorite band POTF which I've happily been following since their beginnings. Always excited every time a new album or project is out by them. About this particular video... Is it just me, but that eye contact with the lens from the singer at the end of the video (a variation from the English version's video) a playful "So, hey, what do you think about that?" for the French. Well, whatever that look was, it very much pleased me and made me want to say: "YES! Perfect. Thank you so much!" (my mother tongue is French :))
