Disagree. Tadej was dropping Jonss this time last year in Tirreno. He's is the most naturally talented rider in the world. However, with Jonas going away with a very specific altitude camp under Jumbo that will focus on enabling him to peak le tour we don't know. Jonas will focus on maximising aerobic climbing ability for 25/40 mins with weight management. Last year this gave him an extra 2-3% and meaning Tadej attacks don't put him into the lactate red so much. The real question is will Tadej also take a more specific approach to le tour and also increase his 25-40 min sacrificing a small ammount of total power.... if he does will it tip the title back into his hands? I hope so!

That is true he did learn from last years TdF and the famous 11th stage where Jumbo broke him with a phenomenal tactic of constant attacks. He wrote about that in the blog for RTV SLO where he talked about the TdF and what he did and what he learned. This year he will be stronger in TdF and i think he will win it with a nice margain provided he is healthy ofc.

@@michaelgriffiths305 I don't think you take this year's parcours into account enough. There are barely any really long climbs, and hardly any altitude. This made a huge difference in Vingegaard's favour last year. He won't drop Pogacar on climbs shorter than 30 minutes. He should try on Puy de Dome and Col de la Loze, but he will need a perfect storm, including high temperatures and a weakened UAE team. And presumably no Roglic...

Around 3:40 you say Jonas Vingegaard are struggling but are that really the truth when you are familiar with how Jonas ride and what his qualities are? It are VERY rare that Jonas stand up when a push are happening in front of him. He very often, when he have pre judged competitors strength, choose to ramp up his Watt´s until he catches up. Where a rider like Pogacar have an explosive push Vingegaard are the one pushing Watts in a more controlled and measured way, typically as part of a longer term thought out plan. I see the situation where the commentator claims Jonas Vingegaard are "struggling" opposite. I see a Jonas with no fear of being left behind correctly judging the situation and wheels in the small amount of meters they gained by "exploding" in less than 30 seconds by just turning up the Watts a little bit while remaining in the saddle. The correct answer for Jonas in the situation. Besides that the cancelled stage the day before were in Pogacar´s favour. Jonas are great over time where there are many long hard routes and mountains. Pogacar are master of the short races and Jonas of the long. When Paris Nice have stage cancellations and less hard stages. like the one today, it will work for Pogacar. Jumbo taking the lead in the long endgame of today´s stage were clearly an attempt to make Pogacar work so Jonas durability and endurance abilities had a better chance to be utilised. Jonas are now number 3 less than a minute after Pogacar. Today´s result might be the one costing Jonas and Jumbo their winning chance. TDF 2023 are going to be interesting!

Great stage! I was surprised by multiple things on this stage: Jumbo pulling for no reason on the last mountain when they could have left it to Pogacar, Pogacars attack didn't do any real damage on this hard stage (Number 11 on this stage: Chris Harper lost only 60 seconds in 5.8k), how little work Gaudu needed to do compared to Pogacar and Vingegaard and how Vingegaard was able to claw himself back 3 times!

Vingo won the TDF last year because Pog let his ego get the better of him and he played into Jumbos tactics and wore himself out chasing attack after attack while Vingo cruised. That won’t be repeated this year. Pog will simply mirror Vingo and make it a 2 man race. Let’s see Vingo beat Pog heads up when Pog does not repeat his mistakes of last year. I think Pog is actually more concerned with David G coming into this years TDF. I seriously doubt Pog will be fooled into chasing a year older Roglic or any rider other Jumbo rider other than Vingo this time around. When Vingo can actually beat Pog 1 on 1 I’ll believe he’s the better rider and that has not been proven to date. Someone above mentioned that Vingo has not yet gone to altitude camp yet, well guess what neither has Pog. 😀

He’s messing w no one s head, esp vingegaard. Vingegaard is too good for that. P may be better racer and may win tour but it won’t be b c vingegaard is psyched out. It’s March. March matters v little. Vingegaard won’t even come to tour peaked. V intends to hit his peak only last 6 days of tour, crucial days. Will p fade then? You don’t know, either way. Nor do I know. We will have to wait and see Speculation

Looks just like 2022. Vingegaard will beat Pog with even more time this year in TDF. Im just grateful that we are going to watch them go again in july

Have they drug tested the ICI (ineos) team yet? I think they need to from what rumours I’ve heard.

Pogacar seems nice but it is an egoit and a rider who does not wish anyone anything. He also gets angry when he loses, we don't know the real Pogacar, not a nice rider.

Do you know him personally? I think most competitive athletes may feel angry if they come close to winning but just miss out.
