I feel weird when I see dancers say ballerinas aren't this mean in real life. I experienced it. I'm not sure if it had something to do with my race or that I was considered the best dancer in my class. I took ballet from age 4 to 9 and the other ballerinas in my class outcasted me, talked about me, I even had some parents mad at me because I had the lead parts in all the plays. I never got support from my peers but from my teacher. I was told at nine to lose weight and that I needed to be ready for the part I'm about to get. After that, I told my mom I wanted to quit. I loved ballet but from my experience it was cut throat. Again I was 9 when I quit.

I've seen signed pointe shoes sold in charity auctions if a company is involved with a particular fundraiser. They're usually either at the start of the sale because they can be relatively inexpensive while people are still warming up to spending money. Or else in the final lots towards the very end of the evening when people have had enough alcohol to utterly lose control of their wallets. Then they sometimes go for really silly prices.

the thing is with ballet shows it they have to hire people who are either professional ballet dancers or professional actors and it's rare to find people who are really good at both since they both require so much training. and in this case they hired amazing dancers who really cannot act (obviously it's not just the actors, it's mainly the writers and such just completely misrepresenting ballet dancers and slipping into generic tropes)
