Best Poison record, ever. I'm usually the guy who hates when a metal band loses their edge, but this record was and is so good, that it didn't matter that it was on the soft side, much like Queensryche's Empire record. This record came at a time in my life, when I had just lost love and was deeply hurt, and at the same time, I was trying to find my feet as a young adult, doing the daily grind at work, attempting to smile through the pain and get my job done. The good Lord and good music truly saved my life. Hard to believe that so many years have passed, since this record was released. It seems like only yesterday, and brings back memories.

Yeah, except this wasn’t Poison’s sound this was Richie Kotzen’s sound 100%. Poison as a self contained entity has no musical direction or artistic integrity. And Brett’s vocals are borerline terrible as always. This sounds as it was intended to sound: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHyqcoBrl96jjMk

Lately I can tell that something ain't right I don't' see the fire when I look in your eyes One time up and the next time down This may be the last time that you'll see me around...said Well it sure seems to me nothing matter tonight And all those things we worked out They got lost in the fight It's not enough, girl, that I gave you my soul I just want to know if we've got Anything left at all, and I say [Chorus] Hold on now baby This could be the last time we stand This could be the last time that we say good-bye The picture shatters can't find the words to save it Tell me what to do how can I make it right? We will always be fire and ice Well promises made, in the heat of the night You could sure spit them out, girl But they've long passed me by Nobody knows about, the show you put me through This could be the last time that I get through to you [Chorus] Well I can't stand to see no more damage done but you'll never understand until you suffer some [Chorus]

This was a collaboration that worked out immensely well. Too bad the pairing of Kotzen and Michaels didn't continue on. Michaels could have had a chance to be great if it had. Kotzen is genuinely great, but he may have had a chance to play in front of more than 12 people at the dive bars I go see him in every time he comes to Chicago - though I'm not complaining about being one of the only people in the audience 5 feet away from the stage. Kotzen is so damn good that the band makes it seem like they're playing in front of 10,000 people, and Dylan Wilson is the most suitable bass player he's ever played with so I hope those two continue together for life.
