3:20 Ive always wanted a pokemon game where the starter is an Eevee but then you're given a water stone, a fire stone, or a mossy rock/leaf stone to then evolve it into a Vaporeon, Flareon, or Leafeon. So you essentially have the water, fire, grass starter system but they're all Eeveelutions, instead of what Let's Go Eevee did.

Eevee is the best starter pokemon you can receive and its clever to do so in XD because while theres a lot of options in the game you can choose what your eevee into based on what team you want to use in that playthrough. You could use a different evolution, and all are affective. Also Collosseum & XD werent worked on by Game Freak but by a company called Genius Sonority so maybe thats why these games feel more alive and feel different to what we have now

Jaiden actually gets a lot of help from her team of animators and script writing and everything like editing, sound design, etc. I think they storyboard and everything LOL it’s like a production. I love colosseum and xd. I liked Pokemon revolution as well but I hope they make another game like xd.

It's not just that there was only like 300 pokemon at the time. Between BOTH Coli games they covered like, just over 100 pokemon. Meaning there were fewer than 100 pokemon per game. When you have numbers only in the double digits, of course you can dedicate more time to their models and animations and give them more.

At 7:00 you discovered the Mt. Battle Reception theme. I’m so happy! At time 5:20, in the background of her video, you can hear the theme music for it. The music in both games is phenomenal, but this short piece holds a special place in my heart. (EVEN THOUGH ITS TOO SHORT!!!)

7:04 Well it's only been a few years since Colosseum ended, and Eagun was also in that game, so he can't be Wes - who, iirc, is noted as disappearing after the crisis was resolved That said, he does use a Pikachu, and I do actually remember people theotizing he was a seasoned veteran Ash... but idr now if there was substantial evidence or just people goofing around; I feel like there was SOMETHING interesting about him in the books at his house, but I can't recall precisely what I also want to add that I feel Legends Arceus does a pretty good job of livening animations and giving them more personality - Luxray comes to mind as an immediate example, with a new idle and whatnot

A lot of the dialogue in Colosseum seems to imply that Egan is "some legendary pokemon trainer who used a pikachu" which definitely feels like bait to make him seem like Ash, but there's never any confirmation - not that the pokemon games get many references to any kind of continuity anyways.

at the risk of sounding conspiratorial, nothing could have been forgotten in such a big presentation, for pokemon no less. they had people making and checking and rechecking the thing. they left the games out on purpose. I'm not even sure there's like a sinister reason for it (game freak doesn't want people to remember how good pokemon could have been!!111) like did they include any pokemon spinoff games in that thing?

The animations had personality because it is not a gamefreak game. Genius Sonority did Colosseum and XD. And they are clearly the superior game studio. They didn't even really know what Pokemon was when ordered to make a Gamecube Pokenon game, but they did amazingly.

I was looking for a No Hit Sans video for reference today when I saw this video in my recommended, and I was so hyped for a new Jaiden video, and then after watching hers I watched this one for your reaction. Always great to see an artist's insight to animation videos. BTW, have you seen Young Yong Tales' "Attempting my first Pokémon Nuzlocke" video? It's fully animated and really cool, similar to Jaiden's Nuzlocke videos but with its own style. Some of the shots and animated scenes in it are REALLY sick. Would be cool to see you react to other people's Nuzlocke/general Pokémon animations as well and give your artistic insight. :)

The character connection I believe is the MC’s mom. I think she was the girl from coliseum that could see the shadow aura. It makes sense since she lives at the lab and helped develop the tech for the eyeglass that was connected to the catching arm. I don’t think it was confirmed, but I’m sticking with it.

That’s why I’ve grown to really like humanoid pokemon over animalistic ones in recent gens. They put so much personality into like Incineroar and Inteleon, but leave the poor other ones behind. It sucks to be in the minority of thinking not every game needs every pokemon, but that’s just how it is I guess 😔

More people would have been on board with dexit if the developers actually made good on their promise to improve the quality of the pokemon that we did get in Sword/Shield etc. Since it ended up being the same old quality models, they basically lost any good will that they could have gotten from naysayers.

I'm so sad that she didn't include the fact that you need the hover scooter for one part and fighting the "Power Rangers." TI can't remember their names but they were seven or was it six that had different colors. Also she left out at the kidnapped town that there was one person who wasn't kidnapped and helps heal your hurt pokemon. Still I love that she's giving love to Gale of Darkness I loved this game so much and played it so much.

As someone who hates gen 3. XD is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. Its a shame that all interviews say they're never gonna make a new game nor are they gonna rerelease the existing ones slightly upscaled. Meaning that pokemon go is the only modern "game" where shadow pokemon exist

Maybe sometime you should do an artlocke of Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness. You can draw the Shadow Pokemon as all shadowy and vicious, then draw them again once purified as wholesome and loving.

7:02 I mean, it's definitely not a theory that he's the main character from Colosseum for two reasons. 1, this game takes place only 5 years after Colosseum, and 2, that old man was in Colosseum. (There are the theories that he could be Red or Ash though)

7:04 Hate to burst your bubble here bc I love theories but this guy was literally also in Colosseum, unless he died and Wes (17 in the original game) aged very rapidly I don't think Wes is Eagun. However apparently he's Rui's grandpa which is not something I knew for some reason before looking it up beforehand. And he was a great trainer, just a very long time ago. I think that's sort of the whole gag with him. He's like this sagely man who chases his protagonist past but can't use technology to save his life. Great vid though!
