Fun fact: because of the coding error for b2w2, "challenge mode" is actually easier and "easy mode" is harder to beat.

I knew someone say easy mode is harder since you gain less experience. But I never knew they were also a coding error..

The coding error was that the stats of the npc's pokemon (except the extra pokemon added to their teams in challenge mode) had the same stats as the normal mode even tho their levels are higher for challenge mode/lower for easy mode. Easy mode becomes harder cuz in addition to the coding error, ur mons gain less exp and u get less money from winning battles.

@@Mixeli here's an example: in normal mode cheren's team is level 12 - 13, in easy it's level 8 - 9 but in reality, ur literally fighting level 12 - 13 pokemon with level 9 mons 💀 The coding error kept the same stats for every npc pokemon (except the extra pokemon they're given in challenge mode)

@@Mixelianother thing I distinctly remember was the third shadow triad member in icirrus city. He used 2 bisharp(x4 fighting weakness) and a banette(fighting immunity) in a rotation battle. Every time I used a fighting attack on a bisharp, he’d conveniently switch to banette to absorb the hit. The same would happen when I target banette with a ghost move, the bisharp would swallow that like it was nothing. Before, I had absolutely no idea what the cause was for the ai to make such tactical decisions on easy mode but a coding errror makes sense.

Easy mode is not as easy as some make it out to be. Due to a programming error, Easy Mode simply lowers the levels of the opponents giving less EXP while maintaining the exact same stats as Hard Mode.

They do slightly less damage as Level is part of the Damage formula, but is barely noticeable when the difference is of only 1 or 2 levels.
