Did you even play Black & White? They barely touched the topic. The game comes to the conclusion that N’s position is wrong SOLELY because he lived a sheltered life. The game says that Pokémon battling is fine because most trainers like their Pokémon. Any real counterpoints get completely ignored as if not a single person mistreats their Pokémon. It’s worse than Korra Season 1.

@@redjirachi1 The timeframes just don't line up on plasma being a retaliation towards PETA, sadly. And Peta isn't the only group that preaches an agenda they don't practice. You could compare them to anti-GMO groups, anti-nuclear groups and many other activists who use scare tactics and misinformation to get what they want. Sadly, I doubt groups like PETA will be going away any time soon, if anything they seem to be getting ever more prevalent.

Not to mention PETA put in dialogue of pikachu saying something along the lines of Ash cramming him back into a tiny pokeball, when Pikachu is quite literally the ONLY Pokemon Ash keeps out of his pokeball. They also have never done research, seeing as it was confirmed in the Pokemon Universe that poke balls are actually very comfortable to Pokemon. To me, it's like they're being protected in their own pocket dimension. So yeah, PETA sucks!

They were always showing Pokemon battles more like sparring matches. It reminds me of the first battle with Brawly in the Advanced series, where Ash wanted to win so bad even with the cost of his Pokemon. He got scolded after the battle, specially by Nurse Joy.

Yeah in the mewtwo movie the nurse joy said Pokémon aren’t supposed to fight a certain way so it’s implied the fighting is never truly lethal but like you said more like sparing matches meaning Pokémon likely show restraint when fighting

I personally like to think that the HP stat is more of a "will to fight" rather than the standard definition of HP and there's a rule that the Pokémon moves cannot be too strong or to cause harsh injuries or even kill the foe. I like how the battle in games both make and don't make sense. The Pokémon may survive an explosion or being struck by a lightning but they often get 1-3 shotted by them.

Every single Pokémon fan I've met, seen, or heard of has been someone who genuinely loves animals and would _never_ deliberately harm them. Many are proud pet-owners who do their best to look after their fuzzy, feathery, or scaly buddy. Even if you can somehow twist the whole battling thing into some kind of abuse, the fact is that the franchise themes of friendship and compassion shine through in almost every medium, and the gameplay mechanics themselves support the idea that you need to love and respect your super-powered monster friend, because some of the best Pokémon evolve only through friendship, and some moves only reveal their true power when your beastie loves you. Pokémon battles are more like sparring/tournament matches in DBZ anyway. Pokémon MUST consent to battle, and they'll only put out what they're willing to. Even if they could decimate the opponent, they'll hold back for fun or fairness. And if a Pokémon doesn't like their Trainer, for one reason or another, they're fully able to release themselves from their Ball and walk away, as Snivy is stated to have done and even advises other Pokémon to do in such a scenario. Several Pokémon in the show explicitly dislike battling and _never_ get forced into by the heroes. The only time these Pokémon fight is when _the bad guys_ force them to do so. Ash and Dawn even traded their Pokémon when the Pokémon in question made it clear they wanted to do the other's thing instead, and all were happier for it. This never happens to the player because the game expects you to be a decent human being and because that would be very complicated to program, not to mention the simple fact that the player getting stuck with Pokémon that don't like battling would be frustrating, especially if it happens with their favorite species.

Yea... if PETA wants folks to be vegan or even just vegetarian, they might want to make meatless and dairy-free products more accessible than make Pokemon parodies. I love Beyond Burgers but those things are pricey.... Like something that would fit into the lore of the games and feel like something Game Freak would do is have some new Professor show off their meatless burgers made with a newly discovered berry or something. But I think PETA has an obsession with violence based on all of their other parody games.

The only thing PETA did right in this parody, is making Ghetsis one of the abusers. Ghetsis’ Hydreigon uses the move “Frustration” which is a move for Pokémon that HATES their trainer. Seems like Ghetsis’ Hydreigon isn’t even treated kindly by Ghetsis…. In the manga, Ghetsis is also really really abusive to N. There’s a scene in the manga where he bashed N’s head hard with a cane. Not only that, in the official manga, he CRUCIFIED the gym leaders, YES, CRUCIFIED. This “man” is ABSOLUTELY A MONSTER.

Other random things I noticed that I find really funny and show how little effort was put in 5:02 Snivy is weak to water types 5:15 Out of every character they could have picked to want to recapture a pokemon and say "you belong to me," they pick Ash. Does Peta not know about the episode where Ash literally tries to give up Pikachu because he thinks it'd make it more happy? What about Butterfree, Lapras, Larvitar (technically), and Pidgeot? Did those scenes not matter? Or all the times he freed wild pokemon from team rocket? Or the fact he usually asks for consent before catching pokemon? What peta doesn't understand is that pokemon like those battles. Since they do it in the wild by themselves too. Trainers will help them learning certain moves, strategies and gain more experience to evolve. It is just a sport in the pokemon world.

People do technically eat meat in Pokémon, but it it usually without Pokémon harm, such as slowpoke tails, which slowpoke do not really care about because they are basically oblivious to everything, and they regrow. This is weird to me as I am a Christian, vegan and I play pokemon. There's nothing wrong with the video game as they don't die they faint, no blood or guts and healed by nurse joy also it's a game not real life which is different. I like looking after pokemon and a researcher. The understanding of the universes more then a collector. I don't agree about not wearing wool or alpaca local farms as its cruelty free. Yeah adrive is one of those guys that i think means well, but is just...annoying to a degree. I have happened to learn some good stuff from him though, but that was because of the people he had guest or collabed with. I found AustinJohn through him, who i like better. Idk, at least adrive tries to be a good person and encourages positivity and does fundraisers but....sometimes hes a little too hyped for me. At least hes stopped putting blatant spoilers in his screen titles.
