One thing to get a bit more of a challenge would to have every Mon after a certain level be fully evolved, let say like after level 36. Its usually done after the 6th Gym, though in FRLG case, it's after Erika as there's a big gap between her & Koga/Sabrina. Erika had an Ace at level 29 while Koga/Sabrina has their Ace at level 43.
