It’s surely too late for my comment to mean anything, but there is literally nobody within the Pokemon challenges scene that uses trade evolutions, so if you started doing it, that would be absolutely unique :)

Because it was released befor gen 6 and they can't change one of its types to fairy. That would change everything about it. When they added the fairy type to prior Pokémon in gen 6 they only did to monotype Pokémon or did it normal type Pokemon.

I think if a Poke survives up to the elite four then it deserves a trade evolution if possible. Otherwise how do you justify letting it evolve with having to reach a certain level or friendship level etc... but definitely yes to trade evolutions!

7:08 yes you should definitely allow trade evolution! I genuinely don’t see a reason as to why not, the hardcore nuzlocke already imposes a bunch of rules, why add more difficulty? Besides the option to allow impossible evolutions on a randomizers sets the level if evolution around the high 30’s which is like 5th-6th badge range so I think that’s fine 🥰

Without the duplicate glitch you can't grind in-between E4/Champion so it does make it harder which is fine still

I'm all for allowing trade evolutions! I never got to play them in my games, so it would be nice to see them in your challenges. What I don't like is the use of glitches and legendaries: it's really boring seeing only Jirachi for half the challenge

Agreed. I was on board with the run, and the KZbinr, until he started using glitches (I don't care if it is time saved. He specifically mentioned skipping "challenging" trainers which obviously removes some of the challenge of the game). He certainly uses every advantage in these runs but the point is to entertain the viewers and sweeping half the game with a mythical and skipping challenging fights using glitches is not my idea of entertaining.

Psychic has a lot of encounters so Jirachi should have only been used in the beginning, or saved as a 'endgame' or 'last resort' Pokemon. Kadabra (or if he chose to Alakazam) is plenty powerful enough to solo Gardina, and I was looking forward to seeing what strategies we'd get with Bronzong...yet it was a continual Jirachi lead.

tbh a combination of bronzong and alakazam is just the same if not better as jirachi, alakazam (which can be get before gym 2 by this ruleset) is faster and stronger than jirachi, and bronzong is a very early and easy to get more defensive jirachi which also one less weakness

You can literally get a level 16 alakazam before the first gym and it'll be both faster and stronger than Jirachi. Surely you can have Jirachi do the same role as alakazam and bronzor put together, but it won't do the alakazam role as well.

I'm fine with the exploit usage. Grinding is monotonous and time consuming at the best of times. I'd argue against the usage of mythical/legends in the future, though. Would've loved to see more screen time of the other members of your team. You had some awesome mons that just... didn't see use, unfortunately. To round it off, yes to trade evos.

I think trade evolutions are fine conditionally. Just look at the base stat total of the trade evolution, and then find other Pokémon with that base stat total, and evolve the trade Pokémon at the same level the other Pokémon with the same BST evolves. For example, Alakazam evolves via trade and has a BST of 500. Pokémon like Ampharos and Rapidash also have a BST of 500. Ampharos evolves at level 30 and Rapidash evolves at level 40, so maybe you just have Alakazam evolve via trade after you reach level 35. It’s just math and comparison, and you’ll find a reasonable level to evolve the trade evos at.

I say evolve all including trade. It’s just a personal preference but having an unevolved Pokémon ruins the dynamic for me. It just feels incomplete and out of place. If you want to make it challenging don’t evolve it till after the gym battles. If it survives those then trade it before victory road or right before you go into the elite 4.

I personally don't mind the use of Legendaries, Mythicals, Ultra Beasts or whatever, throw it all on your team if you want! I know someone has probably already mentioned this but if you use items like the bitter herbs on your Pokémon that can stop the affection bonuses also great video as always would like to see you attempt a run with only Dark types since Houndoom is one of my favourite Pokémon of all time plus it would be cool to see Cyrus go down to the one Pokémon they didn’t choose to give him despite it being in the Underground and him having one in Platinum

Usually enjoy your videos but use of overpowered for early game Jirachi and then after duplicating the vitamins and rare candy, I switched off. It's no longer a challenge except from a strategy viewpoint at e4. Will still watch future vids but hopefully they don't have these strats again. Sorry to be a downer!

From now on I think you should feed your Pokemon herbal medicine to negate all their affection so you could have a fair battle. At least do that before the elite four, otherwise it feels like a cheap win.

About the use of Myticals, is a grey are for me now, I have been reflecting, we use Gyarados which is very powerful and the Pseudo Legendaries which have a total base stat greater than some legendarys, like dragonite has 600 and jirachi too, while zapdos has 580. And you don't see people not using garchomp for example... So do as you like, most of the time, you won't have access to them anyway
