After watching a few of your videos I was just about to send an e-mail about business development in the animation and video development since I am a Business Development Executive at an animation studio, so I was just so happy to find this especially as I had been to think along the same lines. Thank you once more for a brilliant video and keep it up!!

Three Key Takeaways: This was a super interesting case study and very fun to reminisce. 1) Game Freak was the original creator of Pokemon but because they were only a small video game development company at the time, they needed to partner with a larger company to get their product in more hands, thus the partnership with Nintendo was born! Game Freak gave publishing rights to Nintendo and in turn, Nintendo took ownership of 30% of the Pokemon company, 2) As years went on, Game Freak wanted to expand their reach. However, being only a video game development company, they had no experience in creating tv shows, thus the partnership with OLM, Inc was born! Game Freak and The Pokemon Company owned the Intellectual Property (IP) and paid OLM to create an anime version of the video game, which essentially goes on to work as free publicity, 3) In effort to continue expanding their reach, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company sold their licensing rights to 4Kids Entertainment in order for them to create Pokemon products in the United States. This expansion included a dubbed English version of the Japanese anime, as well as merchandise from toys to clothes and everything in-between
