yeah, it switches to a clefairy sprite, then some weird rock smash thingy i believe the schoolboy on route 36 also changes sprites and becomes a cooltrainer once you defeat the sudowoodo next to it

Believe it or not, he's been even more underlevelled than this. In his Sapphire walkthrough, his team was still under level 40 against an Elite Four with a much higher level curve. I thought he was insane when he went in, but he did it. As for this game, the lowest I've been able to win with is going in with a team around levels 32-34, though I used a bunch of powerhouses like Alakazam and Lapras. With a worse team you'd probably need to be in the high 30s.

CubedMelons Didn’t he use Plusle, Beautifly, Pelipper, etc. level 41-42 against Pokemon RSorE with E4 levels 46-58?

@@DemonFox369 Those pokemon were in his Emerald E4 challenge, where he used a bunch of crappy pokemon in the 40-43 range. In his Sapphire walkthrough, he used much better pokemon like Gardevoir and Hariyama around the 37-39 range. And yeah, the E4 levels are around 46-58 in both games.

Don't forget he used low Lv50s against Red Also yeah honestly his team in this playthrough isn't even THAT underleveled. This Elite Four is perfectly doable with Pokemon in the mid 30s without much trouble from my experience. The Elite Four in this game is lower level than any other game

Not surprising to see you outsped Jynx. Bear in mind in game opponents Pokemon usually have bad IVs and EVs and you've been getting EVs for speed the entire game, as well as benefitting from the 12.5% boost in speed from thr Gym badge, so it's not uncommon to find yourself outspeeding even Pokemon with higher base speed or Pokemon that are higher level

It does, but before gen 3 they worked differently. IVs (or DVs as they were called in those games) were between 0 and 15, and each one was worth 2 stat points. They also dictated stuff like gender and shininess. EVs were different as well. They were called Stat EXP, and they were based on opponents' stats, though it took all the stats into account rather than just the highest. You could also max out every single stat, though it took forever.

if you grind your team to like low level 40s and let the elekid evolve you should sweep thru no problem but I gotta think you’re gonna be brick walled by lance without some higher levels

With the right moves you can do it without much issue in the Lv30s, I beat Lance without many healing items with an average of Lv36 too. Lueroi beat the Sapphire Elite Four which has noticably higher levels than this game with Lv37-Lv39 Pokemon
