I prefer Steven as the definitive champion of Hoenn. Wallace is great but it felt a bit redundant to have the eight Hoenn gym be a water type gym followed by battling a water type specialist champion not too long later. I like the arch Wallace got in Sinnoh as a contest master and hosting his own contest the Wallace Cup.

The depth of character, having interest in things other than just his champion duties like his geology and other research, the charisma, the specialism and the absolute strength, this boi deserved so much more screen time in the anime and is one of the reasons that Hoenn is my favourite region to date!

Competitively my favorite regional Champion (next to Cynthia - no dis to Red). Metagross is one of my favorite Pokémon and I would love to see him battle against Cynthia in a full battle. I would argue that Steven is one of the more intelligent trainers around.

Steven is my favorite champion. He has a cool dessign, he's cool calm and collected whilst being very strong and he doesnt have a massive ego, and the pokemon he has are all really enjoyable. I hope he has a kabutops versus ash, but that's probably a stretch. It's my all time favorite Pokémon tho so I have small hope

I never put 2 and 2 together when it came to the possibility of Steven giving Alain a Beldum, which is why Alain would be seen using a Metang, and in the League, A Metagross of his own! That's an awesome reference, but here's another not mentioned Prof., in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire's Delta Episode, Steven actually recalls to when he worked with a Trainer and his Black Charizard... meaning he talked about Alain, so ORAS actually takes place after Mega Evolution Special Part 3, but possibly before the Kalos League, even though After the Kalos League could be just as likely. My hopes, I want Steven to return in Journeys, either in: A- An Exibition match against Leon, with Leon winning (Similar to Leon vs Raihan). B- An Ultra Class WCS match against Alain, that Ash and Goh will attend, since the anime has a history of showing an Ash's Rivals Showdown in most Leagues. (Paul vs Barry, Cameron vs Bianca, Tierno vs Sawyer, Kiawa vs Gladion), or C- As a Qualified trainer competing in the Masters 8 Tournament of the WCS. But in my Masters 8 prediction, Ash and Steven won't be batting each other!

@@ProfessorAlexSilver In my Masters 8 prediction, I have Ash battling Alain in the Top 8 Quarter Finals, and to add to the pressure of Ash never defeating him, I think Alain defeating Steven would make sense, since they both would be going into the Masters 8, having Won 1 League (Unless info later on adds something to Alain's record), Alain with Kalos, and Ash with Alola, and both defeating 1 Regional Champion. Alain over Steven, and Ash over Iris.

Wow, a Trainer focused video! I really love your theory in how Alan got a Metagross by connecting it to Steven, suggesting it’s similar to how you can obtain a Beldum by talking to Steven in the games. It’s very likely! Anyway, Steven’s definitely one of the more charismatic champions in the franchise. (Jessie’s a woman of culture. XD) I’m so glad that X and Y series gave him more time to shine and cemented him as a champion because as much as I like Emerald, I feel they did him dirty by making Wallace, no offense to the character. You can still see Steven is strongest player in hoenn even in emerald as you can choose to talk and fight him in a last optional battle in a cave you can find him in emerald (you have to beat Wallace and become champion to get to talk to Steven). He has the highest level Pokémon in emerald showing he’s still the champion of hoenn just not OFFICIAL one, he left the official title to do what he likes.

Back in Pokemon Advance Series we only saw Steven Stone's Aron and Aggron, but we never knew that he obtain Shiny Metagross that can mega evolved or that he somehow obtain a Key stone and a Megastone.

I would agree that it is a strong possibility that Steven would've defeated Alain had Lysandre not interfered with their match. Despite the type disadvantage, Steven's metagross was certainly a powerhouse that was able to handle Alain's mega charizard and likely rival some of the past opponents Ash battled i.e. battle frontier brains, Brandon and a select few gym leaders/elite four members.

What I wanna know is what happened between him and Wallace. Out of universe we know that they wanted to use Steven cause they made him Champion again in the remakes but what happened in universe? Did Steven use Mega Evolution to gain the upperhand in a battle? Did Wallace take his gym back from Juan or is he just doing contests.

A lot of people may criticize ash for not “recognizing Steven” in xy but I kind of get it They never really spent that much time together and they weren’t really tight like that in the same way ash is with other champions like diantha,Lance, and Cynthia, and alder a little bit So it kind of makes sense why ash wasn’t like hey I know him Cuz ash doesn’t really know Steven that well they kinda met once and that was it and it wasn’t for that long

I absolutely loved Sawyer in the Anime. Sawyer is one of my favorite characters ever introduced in the anime, I was so happy to see him follow Steven. Can we just say that I too want to see Ash battle Steven. Do you think that they haven't had Ash battle Steven because of the fact that Steven was pretty strong and it seemed to me that Hoenn was an anime season where Ash was developed a lot as a pokemon trainer. I make that statement putting into account that he had trouble winning every badge in the region with the exception to Wattson. He lost to Brawly, Norman (unofficial battle). Defeated without a large margin Roxanne, Flannery, Norman, Winona, Tate&Liza, and Juan. LOL then the battle Frontier, he literally was wrecked by Brendan the Pyramid Brain. Maybe they didnt want Ash to have a crushing defeat. I guess if he battles Steven in the to get to Leon, Ash would have to win. I love Ash, he is sooo important to me, but I think most of the battles he wins doesn't have great progression to support his win. If the seasons were possibly 10 episodes longer, I think some of his victories would make more sense. Maybe I just want more episodes lol. Well, that statement is definite.
