It's funny how back in the '90s and early 2000s, ultra-religious types were saying Pokemon was satanic or whatever, but here was Digimon letting you raise certain cute critters to become demons, angels, & eldritch beings, as well as making references to the number of the beast in the anime. It would've been hilarious to have seen their reactions to Shin Megami Tensei. Which is suprisingly the originator of Mon collecting genre.

Most weapons in digimon are made by Vulcanusmon (one of the Olympos XII) who names all his creations after plants/food in spanish. Lucemon Fall Down Mode is pretty on the nose but it also makes sense since the Baseform is the Rookie Digimon Lucemon who is a very benevolent Digimon that has incredible power (easily taking out Mega Level Digimon by hurling planets at it). Lucemon Falldown mode is its Ultra Level that can (in most version) only be reached once Lucemons Powers get to its head and it give into its prideful side. It also has to my knowledge no Champion form and just goes from Rookie straight to Ultra Level.

Bandai Namco's favorite group to antagonize in the Anime and Manga. Is also interesting that the whole group acts like when you force the students that hate each other so much that they wouldn't hesitate to make the others lose in purpose. Like is also interesting that even they are shown as the villanous in the Anime and Manga. In the Video Games (at this point the products that took the Anime's throne) they are portrayed interestingly as some like Lilithmon being defeated in Savers Another Mission by accepting her or in Re:Digitize Decode that Lucemon was forced to be Falldown and Satan Mode.

Well well well… I wonder how you’ll all react to this set of demons. They are a fan favorite series of Digimon and each of them are actually quite well integrated since the 7 deadly sins are a very popular trope to use in Japanese media. Kekekeke I’ll be honest, what I have here is more fun facts. I have so much more to say when you actively try to piss the squad off. Question 1: Alright, ya threw me off there by bringing back fricking Xros Wars, the anime series that made jobbers out of some actual noteworthy digimon… Fanglongmon being a mount is just disrespectful. Now, back to Lilithmon… she does exactly what you think, seduces her enemies with lustful magic and them stabs them with her hidden claws, which rots the body from the inside out. Great Digimon in Cyber Sleuth games due to just how powerful piercing is and the fact that you can team her up with teammates that boost Dark damage. Lilithmon is very active as a standard villain in a lot of media. Of course you get the standard video game bosses, but she has appeared in Xros Wars as a major antagonist, Ghost Game as a monster of the week and part of a storyline of many JP only games. Ofc when her whole team shows up, she does too, but she seems to have one of the longer lasting roles in the series compared to her peers. My guess is that they could make her somewhat like Rita Repulsa for the enemy squad of Xros Wars. Question 2: Beelzemon is a fan favorite and well, his showing in the anime really did make him a very good character with an arc you follow. You understand him and that made him so cool to the kids in the world. Often, Beelzemon is the token good Demon Lord. He is still entirely evil, but has somewhat of a moral code. He will not fight those who won’t fight back or won't give him a good fight. In a way, he actually has some positive representation of Pride in his character, which does confuse people. I explain that the Demon Lords represent the negative aspects of their sins. Beelzemon is a bit of an odd man out in that respect too, but that makes sense in a way. Older depictions of Beelzebub had him as the sin of Pride. So this mix may not be entirely unplanned. The best I got for Gluttony is that it did come from his anime appearance where he would get a kick out of just absorbing the data of his slain foes. Question 3: Ah Barbamon. He is exactly what you think he is. He is pretty much an old Jewish miser stereotype reconfigured into a mastermind of the Demon Lords. He is good at being a dealmaker demon like those “deal with the devil” stories. The skill in which he can manipulate even the most crafty of demons makes him a very good character to use as the ultimate mastermind of a story, which he was used for in Digimon Next. He is incredibly greedy and guards his hoard of treasures with his powerful attacks. I mentioned before that his demonic form is a reference to a jewish stereotype. Big nose, greedy etc, but in accordance to Christianity, I give this a pass. His name is from Barbatos, a demon duke of the Ars Goetia. While the demon known for the sin is Mammon… but funny enough a Mammon already exists and is known as Mammothmon, so I understand the alternative name. Barbatos is known to make deals with his summoner and can grant you the ability to talk to animals. His other power is to allow you to access treasures that have been sealed away through magical means. This is partially why in some pieces of fiction like the Shin Megami Tensei series has him as a common demon that you can blackmail or coerce for a ton of money. A note on his attack is that there is another Digimon called VenomMyotismon who fans know as a terrifying entity that was the final boss of the penultimate arc of the original show. VenomMyotismon uses the attack Pandemonium Flame which is noted as only being a fraction of the power of Pandemonium Lost. So while he is usually a schemer, he can actually fight back if his plans fall apart. I’ll be honest though, I think they didn’t do something like Dissenter’s Flame was for this reference and the fact that another Demon Lord seems to primarily have fire attacks. Question 4: Belphemon, the Demon Lord of Sloth and is basically a giant hulking Baphomet. I love this guy’s design, especially Sleep Mode where the Alarm Clock is actually a lock that keeps it asleep. When it awakens, there have been cases where either the Alarm Clock is the cause or the signal that the beast is about to awaken. Speaking of Cyber Sleuth, I actually evolved my starter into this fluffy sheep. His snores legit can cause you to fall asleep and never wake up. And this is when he is pretty much harmless. What happens when he wakes up is shown in the Data Squad season where he is the final boss of the first major arc. It is assumed that due to the irregular way he was woken up, he was not even at full power in that season. I did some digging and couldn’t really find anything on why Dark Sigh was called Lampranthus. I assumed it could be used to make a drug to help with sleep, but it is used for many things besides that. My only guess is due to how it grows. The Lampranthus is a succulent, growing in various ways with sharp leaves. One way it grows is a patch of shurbbery. When ready to flower, it blooms all at once with enough flowers to cover the entire plant. I guess that is how the dark flames form. Question 5: Man Creepymon is such a bad name for this guy. Demon is not much better, but it is at least on the nose. If you guys are interested, his sprite in Digimon World DS makes him look a bit more threatening. He represents Satan, the Demon Lord of Wrath and his story is similar. There is a “god” of the Digital World that the angelic Digimon worship. The Demon Lords are said to have fallen and was granted incredible power derived from the deadly sins. Demon wanted to rebel against the angels and was defeated, sent to the Dark Area (aka our recycle bin) because he was too powerful. Nico and Kyle would be glad to know that he does fight like a wrestler, using hammer blows and grapples. Like Lilithmon, he shows up in a lot of media. He was part of an aborted arc in the 02 and it really felt like his inclusion was cut short. His biggest appearance for non JP fans is from the V-Tamer manga where he is a big bad, rallying an army to conquer both worlds. His other appearances are pretty much name drops. Question 6: Leviamon is sadly the only one of the 7 that I think has had no representation outside of when they are presented as a team. He legit had a cameo in Xros Wars where they were able to summon a hologram or something to have it use Rostrum on an enemy… honestly… fitting. He can stay envious of his peers. I do really like him as a non humanoid member. Leviathan as the Demon Lord of Envy is a title that is sadly just unexplored due to how little personality he gets other than a hungry beast. For many, Leviamon and Beelzemon should have swapped their sins due to this. His moves all have latin names. Rostrum, Anima, Cauda, Duo Cauda are all very self explanatory, which fits him very well as the supposed simple muscle of the Demon Lords. His entry may be a bit vague, but from what I understand, his mythos is that he is so goddamn big that the world itself doesn’t have the RAM to fully let him exist, so he sits underwater allowing his aura and influence to corrupt everything. Question 7: Ah Lucemon. Lucifer himself with 3 modes. The instigator of rebellion and an individual with contradicting facets. What we have here is Falldown Mode, a being so powerful, he is considered the leader of the 7 even though he is only an Ultimate. His immense power is so legendary that when he was a Rookie level, his special attack surpassed even archangel Digimon. Being the main villain of Digimon Frontier, fans of the series saw how powerful he was even when he was in a lower form. Xros Wars also had him as a servant of Lilithmon… which utterly contradicts what I just stated. Note: did not expect the utter vitriol that 7DSs elicited from the others.

Tbf, Daemon _is_ used in most English media. It was just Adventure and the first few games that they used Creepymon.
