2024 was wild for my Pokemon pocket. I don’t know about other countries but here, Pokemon was partnering with clothing brands, convinience stores, food establishments, etc. The amount of merch I bought and yet still to buy were so much.

I imagine 2025 will be the year where Legends:Z-A gets to shine while we wait for Gen 10 in 2026. My guess is that Legends:Z-A will come out in the summer at the earliest or in November at the latest. After having the refreshingly silent year that was 2024, I'm really looking forward to what 2025 has in store for Pokemon and I hope Legends:Z-A pans out to be a really good game.

So, I'm assuming we'll get some sort of Gen 10 announcement, but my guess is that we won't be getting it until 2026 since that's Pokémon's 30th Anniversary. It makes sense that they'd hold off on it to coencide with the anniversary year with Legends Z-A as our sole mainline game. Not to mention it would be a brand-new Pokémon game for the Switch 2 at the very beginning of the console's lifespan which would be a huge boost in sales for both.

We recently got Gen5 plushies, Pokémon Go has an upcoming Unova event, TCG has a new BW inspired set... 15 years of BW release in Japan this year. I don't know. BW3? Pokemon Legends Z-A *IS* the holiday title and there won't be a gen 10 announcement until pokemon day 2026. Holiday title for 2026 will be gen 10. Scarlet and Violet and BDSP almost certainly cannibalized Legends Arceus of about 10 million copies despite being the better game in the franchise, and they took notes and won't be doing that again.

I just found the channel via this video. I remember talking with someone else back at school about how interesting to see an official Pokemon racing game. I have some thoughts on a couple of games that Pokemon could potentially try doing in the future below, the second bit a bit rambly, so please excuse the wall of text below becaus of that. That said, I have kept on going in few places about how much fun I think it would be to have a game where you run, operate, and manage a Daycare Center. And I just like the idea of having players work on managing a Pokemon Daycare Center, they could even do a quick little personality test like what they do in the Mystery Dungeon games that tells the game what Pokemon to pair you with during the time you start the game via arriving at the Daycare Center (which another set of questions will tell the game where you are starting things off) and having to first get the facility up to code due to you having just found out you inherited the business from someone who named you in their will that you probably didn't even know existed but that also means you inherit all the business's problems. So the first part of the game would be you finding the property, which has clearly seen better days, by going where you were told, and then being told by the local government you have x amount of time (in-game) to get the place up to minimum standards or they'll revoke your newly acquired license and then demolish the facility to make room another project someone on the city council as been jockeying for. The later parts of the game could be further improving the facility, and later expanding it, while looking after Pokemon brought your way, which would mean a considerable portion of your income will go towards necessities for looking after Pokemon and thus pushing back your early plans for properly improving the facility. And once the game reaches a certain point, you'll be able to basically play Daycare to other Pokemon games, possibly even other players, by being able to transfer some of your own Pokemon from where you've been storing them to both let this character look after them and make use of them as additional temporary helpers, but you would also be able to send messages and notices out to other Pokemon games to allow other Pokemon players use your services to look after their Pokemon and give them updates on developments that have happened during the time their Pokemon are with you. Of course, this all something that I would like to see, and maybe a few other people I've talked to that expressed some interest in the change up to the formula. Now, keep in mind, this all something out of my head, and something I came up with and was a few years before the announcement of Legends Arceus.

I believe gen 10 will be announced and released in 2026 since that is the pokemon franchise’s 30th anniversary. I’ve had that thought since 2023 or 2022. If there is a gen 5 remake then it would probably be after gen 10 on the next Nintendo console. I think Legends z-a will be the only game in 2025. Either mid or late 2025 is what I think it’s releasing in.

I think my ideal Pokemon 2025 plan would be the release of LZA mid-year, and before the end of the year at least one generation proted to the Switch / Switch 2, even if it's just an emulated 3DS version with Home support. While the new games can be exciting we have been in desperate need of more of the older games on Switch due to the 3DS eShop shutting down and the price of existing physical cartridges being so expensive, if they even still work.

So first off, this could be the Starters aside from the Kalos Trio... Grass = Snivy Fire = Scorbunny Water = Piplup And the Kalos Starters should be getting their own Mega Evolution as they rightfully deserve. Instead of Gen 3 ports I just want them to give us Pokemon Delta Emerald, combine ORAS with Emerald and give us the Battle Frontier for real this time, in Switch ultra HD graphics maybe based on the graphics engine from LGPE (which is imo by far and away the best Pokemon has ever looked bar none). This is me huffing that super ultra mega copium but a man can dream right? Also saying you'd rather have a BDSP style remake vs. a Let's Go style remake is crazy to me, BDSP is the worst Pokemon has ever looked and LGPE is the best Pokemon has ever looked. Just make the catching mechanics optional/toggleable and you can play it classic style if you want and you won't even have to interact with any Go-style mechanics.

Nintendo/Pokémon have a cash cow now with their mobile games, so they will spend way more time/energy/effort in a new game now, to get in the big bucks and make the shareholders happy with these small incomes that can be a lot of money for them. As they do not feel the need anymore to put out new games to earn the same amount of money or more. They also know that their biggest markets are having financial difficulties, so rather get a buck from everyone, then 60 from maybe 1 person. So, I do think we will only get 1 game this year.

I have a lot to say, so I will organize my points but asterisk. Sorry if it ends up reading as if I am chatGPT. *We will not see any Unova games. Yes, it has probably been the most popular region for the past six years, but the focus on Unovan Pokemon in the SV DLC and the reveal of L:Z-A leads me to believe that Gamefreak will wait for a while before returning to Unova. *Related, Game Freak and Nintendo are terrified of another Gen V situation when it comes to consoles. B2W2's sales, and to a far lesser extent BW's sales, were hampered by their release near the arrival of the 3DS. B2W2 was released **over a year** after the 3DS had hit shelves, so people were far less likely to drop money on a DS game despite full compatibility. This, possibly combined with confusion over the name, lead to B2W2's infamously low sales (for a Pokemon game). I am not sure if Nintendo will release or even reveal its next console in 2025, but it will certainly come out before the next major Pokemon game, which will be made for it. *No major 2024 releases was planned, unlike 2015's lack of major releases. 2015 was when Pokemon began to embrace freenium games with Rumble World, Picross, and Shuffle, but it saw no major releases besides Mystery Dungeon, like you mentioned. I recall that there was a leak two or so years back that there was a "Red-Z and Blue-Z" or the like planned, in addition to the sudden cut of mega evolution in favor of region-based gimmicks, I fully believe that bad events occurred behind the scenes in 2015 (and 2014) that caused Game Freak to cancel the Kalos third version in favor of preparing for a the 25th anniversary year (Pokemon GO, SM). Yeah, SV sold incredibly well, but I truly believe that Game Freak saw that even critics had dropped their scores, so the company has been focusing much more. *I have predictions for Pokemon day that I am confident for. Like always, it will begin by announcing the next updates for Unite, Cafe, GO, and the other live-service games. However, the bulk of the presentation will be on L:Z-A, which I think will have a Q3 or even Q2 release. Pokemon tends not to be announced much outside of Pokemon day, so the silence on the game has not surprised me too much. The presentation will end with a teaser, even smaller than SV's, for the Gen X games. I highly doubt that Nintendo will reveal the Switch's successor before Pokemon Day, and it will not be announced **on** Pokemon Day, but there will be an implication that it will be for the next console. There may be a surprise announcement for a spin-off, GBA ports, or a return to Johto, but I have less confidence in those. Thank you if you have read this all of the way through!

Everything up until ORAS had varying degrees of "good", but everything after that has been mid to pure dog defecation. Their potential grew, but their efforts stayed the bare minimal with a bunch of excuses. And I'll put my reasons below: 1. They could include the full National Pokedex, their excuses for balancing could easily be resolved by putting exclusions for certain Pokemon in online/local play, or custom presets that you can filter by just like how Showdown does it. Even have online tournaments that cycle through the presets etc if they want. 2. The textures and models for the most part are lackluster, some being abominations for the dumbest reasons. They got lazy with optimising the game, and as someone that's worked with optimising 3D models and textures in various game engines, their excuses are bs. 3. The quality of writing, and the storylines after the DS era have slumped HARD. People use the excuse that "Pokemon is for kids", but fail to realise that you can have a compelling story and mature dialogue that kids and adults can understand. It's lazy writing by people that certainly didn't get hired for their skill. 4. Lazy world building and maps that don't have any diverse environments like past games did, unless you pay extra for DLC which shouldn't even be a thing in Pokemon games. 4. Don't even get me started on the Diamond Pearl remakes. I'd rather they just never existed. 5. The last time I heard a good soundtrack was in Gen 5, anything after I can't even remember a single tune, except for the SuMo main theme and that was like listening to nails on chalkboard. And despite all of these, I'd be happy if they actually fixed one. But it's been 6 years and they haven't fixed one thing. And by what's known about the new generation, I have severe doubts it's going to change for the better.

I am glad that Pokemon is chilling with the release dates. Recent games have been harshly criticized. So maybe the developers decide that a bigger focus on quality would be worth it for the good PR. Quality takes time. I wonder if PalWorld has anything to do with this. That is such a weird situation. PalWorld is a cheap Pokemon ripoff. It isn't just something that involves collecting and battling magical creatures. It is about how many of the creatures looked almost exactly like specific Pokemon creatures. I didn't play, because I didn't want to support a knockoff. However PalWorld was a big deal. It sold lots of copies. It became a fad at least. PalWorld has had more success than a mere knockoff should have had. The Pokemon developers are well aware of the existence of PalWorld. They are currently doing investigation and a court case for copyright infringement. I think this is a major wake up call that is needed. Pokemon needs to step up their game. Otherwise they can loose to a competitor. They can even loose to a weak competitor like PalWorld. That may have been the motivation to slow game releases and focus on quality. I don't know for sure. This is just my speculation. My favorite recent Pokemon game was Legends Arceus. It is awesome. I look forward to the new Legends game. I am currently playing Violet. It is so underwhelming. If there is a third version of that, I will pass. I would like a Johto remake. That would be cool. Clair has been such a difficult gym leader for me. So I would love to be able to use fairy types as a counter and try to battle her again. I hope there isn't the Let's Go capture system. That was so annoying. I don't think there will ever be a remake of gen 5. That is one of the gens with the biggest backlash. I don't like this gen as much as others due to hideous Pokemon designs. The new Legends game is based on gen 6. So I think gen 5 will be left behind entirely. I love gen 6. A game combining the rich environments and Pokedex of Xand Y with the fun gameplay of Legends Arceus would be amazing.

I recently realized something weird. Pokemon is my favorite Nintendo franchise. There is an appeal with the creatures and the type system. I love the RPG genre and the associated mechanics. I am a fan of Legend of Zelda too, but not as much. Action adventure is pretty fun, but not quite as good as RPG. I like Zelda more for story and flavor as opposed to mechanics. Overall I like Pokemon better than Zelda. However my favorite games on the Switch are Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Both are Zelda games. Whoops. I think the reason for this is that Pokemon games were lacking. Breath of the Wild is an amazing game that that very well received. It was like this because there was so much care, passion and time that went into it. It was even delayed, when it was released. This endeavor was a lot of work and a huge risk, but it payed off big time. Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel game, and that is amazing too. I would love to have a game that mixes Pokemon and Breath of the Wild. There is still the amazing core mechanics of Pokemon with the RPG genre. Then on top of that, there is open world and survival. There should also be lots of stuff to do. Breath of the Wild had a lot of stuff. There was shrines, koroks, armor upgrades, side quests etc. That is amazing and worth applying to Pokemon. Legends Arceus is the best Pokemon game I played on the Switch. It is the closest thing to a mix of Pokemon and Breath of the Wild. It demonstrated that Pokemon works very well with an open world. It was a bit of an experiment, and it was a successful one. There are downsides though. The game was a bit rough around the edges. The combat was wonky. The game isn't quite at the same level as Breath of the Wild in terms of fun stuff to do. I am forgiving of the flaws since Legends Arceus was trying things out. I hope there will be an awesome Pokemon game on the same level of Breath of the Wild. That would be awesome with the open world and the stuff to do. I can even imagining traveling all over the Pokemon version of Japan. There is the whole archipelago. This area includes the regions of the first four generations. That would be so awesome.

They not re-releasing SV or doing a USUM version of it. Fans need to accept it. Ports is not likely as they would of done it already. We not getting remakes as BDSP was in 2021. Also Johto had a remake already and that remake was awful. BW remake won't be until maybe after Gen 10 DLC on the Switch 2.

I think we'll get Z-A around November 17th this year and this summer we'll get R/B/Y G/S/C R/S/E ported to switch. I could see gen 10 announced this pokemon day but I definitely think they should wait and see how responses with Z-A go so that if they need to take a pause on the game to fix complaints players had from Z-A that are in gen 10 game then they could announce it 2026

Sick of waiting for new games. Replayed all 3ds titles and recently discovered the world of ROM hacks. Couldn't care less about sequels now. Half of these are waaaaaay better than the mainline games with original storylines and gameplay improvements. A rabbit hole i doubt I'll emerge from. Great videos BTW.

I would love to see Game Freak pull off a Playstation 1 Namco Museum type of game, where you can explore a virtual museum and take a look at behind the scenes material, music & songs in the theater as well as the intro & outro videos, interviews with the staff members including the anime history of it, and including the games originally as well as being able to play the same game with up to 500/1,000 players all at once. But again, you're free to do it offline as well, and not require an internet connection or a Nintendo Account to play the game. That I think would be the ultimate thing, and if Game Freak has to make multiple volumes like what Namco did for the PS1, then so be it. Other than that, re-release of Wiiware games or my personal favorite, the sequel to Pokemon Channel, would absolutely get me stoked on seeing what was considered a 20+ year old game stuck on a console that not many own nowadays.

I want to add my two cents. The TCG, games and show always try to be relevant ish to each other. You can not tease N as a trainer and his Pokémon in the Next TCG expansion and not give the console gamers some Unova time. That and a Black and white OLED would be 🤌.

Considering they have not revealed anything from PLZ i highly doubt we will get it in the first half of the year most likely it will be the holiday release for 2025. I think on Pokemon Day they will announce gen 3 games will be available to purchase on the eshop.

I think Z-A will release for the holiday season, if we are getting anything else it would be ports (not likely until the 3DS is dead), or a spin-off like another Pokemon Snap. I think we won't get gen 10 until 2027 at earliest, probably will be gen 5 remakes before gen 10. So far it's always been main game, remake, main game, remake etc.

I think that on Pokemon Day we will finally get a trailer for PLZ with a release date in mid November, and then they will also announce gen 3 games available for purchase on the eshop for 20-30$ each.

I would absolutely love seeing any of the gen 3 or 4 games remade, including the gamecube games like colosseum and gale of darkness. I think it would also be nice if they gave pokemon home a pokemon stadium-ish add on that lets you battle with any of the Pokemon that you have in home against random npcs or maybe even your own teams that you built and practice battling against them.

Personally while we’ve gotten used to yearly releases I wouldn’t mind Pokemon taking breaks for years, 3 minimum. Think about it? The hype would be much bigger, MUCH more time to actually think about the game instead of sloshing them out. Sticking to Nintendo ips look at Zelda games. A beloved series which its shockwaves still affect the gaming world today, and with its two newest games it’s been seen a new breath of life. I think Pokemon needs the same. A good few years of just nothing. And this is coming because I love Pokemon and hate to see it how it is today.
