I have to disagree with gen 7 being the best on 3ds, it was mid as hell. And in general the jump to 3d came with questionable decisions by gamefreak gameplay wise and all of the existing pokemon ended up looking worse than their original sprites wish washed out colors and bland animations. I would rather play a DS pokemon game on my 3DS, best 3DS pokemon game though imo was probably ORAS

This dude clearly never played other pokemon games bro my top 3 is Oras for #3 legends arceus for #2 HGSS/Platinum nothing beats gen 4 this is my current top 3 my old top 3 was black 2 and White 2 for 3rd FRLG for #2 and HGSS/Platinum when I was young.
