That's also why we get an empty victory road and the weakest gym leaders and elite four to this day. I feel like they should have made kanto more powerful and not starve us from XP. That seems like the more logical choice to me.

I actually loved this theme quite a bit. It has great progression in terms of tone to convey the sort of sadness and danger in facing Team Rocket (being a criminal organization I mean). Although of course, the trainers were not that strong in the original G/S/C games.

i remember the humor of the old games. the directors had a decent sense of humor. they would use self destruct, then say they didnt know why they lost. this is exclusive to only team rocket. even jessie and james are shown many times to be freakin stupid. the directors know what kind of humor they needed based on the situation, and it worked, apparently.

I wish people appreciated how fantastic these melodies are. Modern pokemon melodies are drowned out by the electric guitar or atmospheric bs that makes it sound very generic. You used to be able to pick pokemon music out from the crowd. Now it sounds like anything else

Agreed, with limited number of voices to work with on gameboy and limited synths and no drums other than white noise they had to be very creative with the melody and even more so the bass notes to create a good rhythm. Whoever did the main song writing in GSC was extremely talented.
