Source: i tried giving my wife a back rub and she said it wasn't hard enough, but when I asked if its a massage she said no. I didn't get a reason and I've learned not to ask lol. coney I think your right on saying that a massage device is not a rub device. I understand what you mean about rubs vs massages but I think the reason why chat had so much trouble understanding is because of skin massages also being another term for a rub(since both are to stimulate the skin), which is yes a massage technically but you were asking for that specific thing and not just a generalized massage as what people typically consider a massage has enough pressure to go to the muscles. honestly though most massage devices dont give good rubs as allthough they can have settings to go lighter on the skin, they dont move across the skin in large enough motions since they push inwards as oppossed to pushing the skin around, also another reason why good rub machines dont exist is because it requires a certain amount of friction mixed with force to actually give a back rub that isnt too light or just pushing the person around because differences in clothing or even skin from person to person. the reason people dont have trouble with it is obivously since we can feel and adjust just right because it's something built into our genetics to be able to do unlike our machine counterparts
