Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Scarlet and Violet Gen 9 using only Water types?
Nuzlocke rules:
Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
Always Set mode
No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
No overleveling the next gym leader

Right, especially in S/V where the White Herb is an infinite use item, so Shell Smash becomes even more broken on Cloyster.

Ok I think it's time we explained why Nemona picks the starter weak to yours. My best theory is that she intentionally picks that starter to help you. Remember that Nemona is a champion rank trainer and she knows that she can't use her usual team on a beginner. So it's likely she chooses the starter she does to give you a fighting chance. So the next time you think she is stupid for her choice of starter, just remember that she's going easy on you. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk!

Toxapex and Slowbro trivialize the entire run as long as you have a ground type… feels like a lot of pointless deaths that could be avoided with stall tactics (ex: Baneful Bunker guarantee poisons Meowscarada and then venoshock + recovering off damage safely takes it out) Also, Iono can be stalled out as long as you have a ground type and something decently bulky, like Azumarill, to take neutral hits. Persim berries also take care of confusion + there’s an option to have a regular quagsire instead of using barboach All of this can be done without set up moves btw (did a violet water run last month and tbh Rock Head Basculin actually blows through some late game fights with access to wave crash, double edge, head smash + life orb)
