This was intense I really want Red to make this legendary redemption arc. Like could you imagine the story line. After Red being defeated by Giovanni the ultimate villain he has to climb his way back to regain the title of the strongest trainer in Kanto. And to do this he must face Lance the champion who took his place after he left and the final elites 4 member he faced before reaching the championship. He then must face the very man who gave him his first Pokémon his mentor Professor Oak in all an all out battle. With Oak wielding Red’s greatest failure of never being able to catch Mew. Then Red must fight the Ultimate Villain once more the very same man who he fought years ago to end team rocket the very same man who took over the world (rainbow rocket) the same man who defeated him and ended his winning streak. And finally if he makes it past all that he will have to face his greatest challenge yet. The person who both tormented him and became his greatest friend. The person who was his greatest rival who pushed him to new heights. The very same person who he had to fight for his title of champion Red. His greatest rival, his best friend, his final obstacle Trainer Blue.

THIS IS WHY RED IS THE POKEMON MASTER. Lance has (arguably) the strongest team in the tournament. Stat total wise, Red was outgunned largely. But strategy WINS

My heart was literally pounding when watching this, and my chest suffered as a result. Literally another tug-o'-war kind of battle that definitely highlights both Trainers, and in this case, Champions' calibers, and reminding us why they are Legends. As always, nicely done Silph, and here's hoping to many more moments defined by True Power.

This had to be my favourite battle thus far, Red deserved this win for using incredible and unfathomable tactics. When a battle ends with one Pokémon having only 2hp you know it was a true war!
@AHEM13134 жыл бұрын
I've so many mixed emotions coming into this: I want Red to win from a lore standpoint, want to see Red vs. Oak (the true final boss battle that never was), rematch Giovanni, and challenge Blue for his champion title. On the other hand, Lance vs. Oak would also be an amazing match-up, and I've my doubts about how Red could beat Giovanni after seeing his team get swept by Mewtwo last time. Lance, on the other hand, has both a speedy Dark type and a ton of powerful Pokemon with Ground immunity, so I'd be disappointed if I didn't get to see him go up against Giovanni. Does Red have Ice Beam on his Blastoise and a dragon move on that Mega-Charizard? If so, I'd favor him, unless Gyarados can set up a sweep. If not, then Red is gonna lose this one, especially if he can't set up Stealth Rocks. Stealth Rocks are really the key to beating Lance. Edit: WHOA! Red surpassed my expectations! When Red's Blastoise got worn down without loosing any Ice Beams and no Stealth Rocks went up, I thought that Lance had Red's number, but this one was truly a photo-finish! It was anybody's game up until the last move hit. My prediction wasn't at all accurate, but I don't mind at all, because this one was a thriller! It's interesting that Red seemed to be luckier on the damage calculations, often surviving with only one or two hit-points, but Lance was luckier in terms of everything else--just imagine how much it would have cost him if he'd lost a turn due to confusion, paralysis, or a flinch!
@JoeKell3654 жыл бұрын
this battle finished exactly how the screenwriters for the anime would have drawn it up. the anime isn't quite as switch-heavy, but everything else felt really thematic for the climax of the Pokemon League, and i wouldn't want it any different also, damage rolls suck sometimes, especially when my favorite move (Dark Pulse) is involved. that flinch made me happy though

This is so poetic, the only 2 dudes that can bet Lance are Red and Blue in the story, and now, Red have the momentum to, first beat Oak, take revenge from Giovanni and fight Blue for the ultimate champion!!
