Only Generation 5 buffed it. Acting like a Focus Sash, while blocking one hit moves. I did a nuzlocke of Pokemon Black 2, and oh my god, Sturdy was my favorite Pokemon ability now. This luck runs out when I go battle Paul, however. I lost the strongest Pokemon, Magneto. I found Magneto as a Magnemite (Virbank Complex) As a Magneton when it evolved during the leveling As a Magnezone when it evolved in the Chargestone Cave. It was basically my favorite Pokemon, and simply seeing Magnezone die makes it worse. Pokemon Black 2: Extra Chapter: Saddened Sunny: (cries) Amphy (Ampharos): It's going to be okay, Sunny... Klonoa (Lopunny): Oh dear... Poor Sunny has to go ahead and level up her Trapinch. Kirby (Samurott): Mina died during a trainer battle, Nights died during the leveling session, Phoebe died from a Battle Girl, and now poor Magneto... When will the suffering end for Sunny... Jitterbug (Leavanny): Sunny... Please use the Trapinch that you're going to use. Sunny (Rosa): Fine. I'll use Trapinch. Her Pokemon: Yay! Sunny (Rosa): I'll have to make sure no more Pokemon die.

Man that was stupid how it used to work. One-Hit KO moves were very rare as is and they do not hit too often. Glad they gave it the buff for any move that would ordinary one shot it sturdy will prevent (especially since most Pokemon with Sturdy are Rock/Ground times and are 4x weak to both Grass and Water, two of the most common types to encounter in the series

The guy who had been feeding him bad info in this run? He didn't realize that Sturdy was a terrible Ability before they buffed it somewhere later on. It only blocked Moves that always deal a 1 hit ko if it hits. It's only till later (Gen 5 I think?) when Sturdy gives you effectively a free Focus Sash at full HP like how Focus Sash works. Dropping the Pokemon who endured the otherwise fatal hit, down to 1 HP.

Why use dig? Arcanine had bite! You know, a physical dark type move that's super effective against psychic types which Alakazam is and since it's physical and Alakazam's physical defense is hot garbage! I completely agree that he shouldn't have used flamethrower, and yes bite has slightly list power than dig but it has the bonus of being super effective.

I'm pretty sure Koga's gym was supposed to be more about status conditions than the type specialty. I could be wrong, tho since his team was full poison, as were most of the gym trainers. That would be a cool redesign concept for his gym for when we inevitably revisit Kanto for the hundredth time

Speaking from personal experience here, snorlax could have swept sabrina’s entire gym practically. from the moment of capture. If it was level 34 going into the gym, he would have had no problems if he used it by itself.

Whenever I (try to) play a Nuzlocke, I always make a 'Dead Pokémon' box. I put the heaven-like background and I revive the Pokémon before putting them there. If they're dead, I want them to feel comfortable.

2:50 I agree. Bulbasaur is the best in playthrough. Leech seed and sleep powder combo can be really useful if you don't have many pokemon left and can be clutch. And it also has a great mach up against most of the trainers

nuzlocke is kinda different, most of the time you want the fire starter bc fire type is scarce in nuzlockes and you really want that coverage, so in this case charmander is a better pick

@@urkerab It depends on the TM. Some like shockwave, or ariel ace you're fine using whenever. You should save the stronger ones like earthquake and flamethrower at the Elite 4 so they aren't wasted. This game is interested as you can buy TMs like brick break and dig at the department store. So I'd recommend teaching those to any Pokemon that can learn them.
