If you already have a shiny Celebi from the past you will get the bonuses of 2x duration on incences and lucky eggs WITHOUT having to purchase the research. You can enjoy the bonuses right from the start of the event. Also they said they will reduce the cooldown of the Mystery box, so you can open it more frequently to get the shiny Meltan (once a day I believe)

This may just purely be anecdotal experience for me but just the month ago I would trade with my girlfriend and it would be like every 10 to 20 pokémon we would get a lucky but now since they announced this 8th anniversary thing it's like every 40 or more pokémon we're getting lucky so I think that they artificially increase the rates recently so that when this event starts it feels like we're getting a boost, could just be me. Also I've daily gift traded battled and raided with numerous best friends over the course of the past three or four months and have not gotten a single lucky friend so thats weird too

At least there will be fusions in July but hopefully I don’t need to do that much raids since I only remote raid. I am looking forward to the ultra unlock Mega raid day. Nope. Stationary works. Roughly 1 Meltan every 50 seconds to 1 minute between each spawn. Also, the box goes for 1 hour like a normal incense. Although I do have to say, don't expect a bunch of 3*+ IV Meltans. Last 4 times I popped the box, not 1 3* at all. Excellent way for the candies and XL candies though if you have a Melmetal that you wanna max out and/or give a second move.

@@rcc1811 no he said for Pokémon you want hundos of, you can trade them with a small chance of getting lucky. Lucky trades work one of 3 ways. The first way is constant daily interaction between 2 trainers at best friend level. There is usually a 1% chance to become lucky friends where the next trade between those 2 trainers is guaranteed to be lucky meaning at least 12/12/12 and cheap to power up. The second way is through normal trading. For trainers who are not best friends there are 2 more ways to get lucky. When trading Pokémon through normal trading, there is usually a 1% chance that a pokemon can become lucky. This is what daxi was referring to because notice I said usually. In this event for both becoming lucky friends and getting lucky pokemon through regular trades, the odds of those things happening has been boosted to about 10%. The last way is when trading a pokemon from 2018 or older. One in game mechanic is the older the pokemon is the higher chance it is the regular trade could go lucky. So once pokemon from 6 yrs ago and older of whichever year you’re in is traded, it is guaranteed that both pokemon traded become lucky pokemon. Hope this helps!
