I have an explanation for forecast. The Pokemon predicts incoming weather, and transforms itself into the type that benefits/is not harmed by that weather, like a person choosing what clothes to wear based on a weather forecast. That might even explain why there is no sand form castform, as in my experience sand storms are much harder to predict than rain, sun, or hail.

I figured the lack of a Sand Castform had something to do with sandstorms not being moisture related like the other three weather conditions, tying in to some Pokédex entries explaining how Castform's molecules are like water.

I've been looking up the Japanese names of abilities, just to see how similar or different they are. My favorite is how Hyper Cutter is "Superpowerful Claws". I think they should rename it to "BIG MEATY CLAWS". Cute Charm is... uh... "Mad Love Body". Interpret that how you will. Forecast is kind of funny. It's other name is "Temperamental", or "tenkiya". "Tenki" means weather, so Castform's mood literally changes like the weather!

Clear Body is pretty common for steel types, so my idea is that the Pokemon's metal body is so clean and shiny, it appears clear. Or it more means "clean body".

I'm pretty sure the ability pressure is not referring to it figuratively, as in the games, when a Pokémon with pressure enters the battle, the game says the Pokémon is "exerting its pressure". Therefore, I think the ability means the Pokémon with the pressure ability is literally applying pressure to its opponent, making it more difficult for the opponent to move, so as a result the opponent needs to use more energy, aka PP, to use a move.

If I can mention something about the ability "Thick Fat" blubber or fat can be used as an insulator, and insulation IS used to both prevent heat loss, and resist temperatures rising. So it really does work both ways in the real world too.

Pressure can also be considered force being exerted on an object such as an increase of gravitational pressure thus by this thought the pokemon increasing the pressure on another makes it use more energy to do the same action like lifting your arms with weights on them as opposed to nothing at all

I think the idea with 'forecast' is that, when you hear a forecast (weather, sports, whatever), you (normally) prepare for that, in the case of weather by dressing appropriately. Castform changes its form and type to the current weather to take advantage of it (and, in the case of Hail, *not get damaged by it*), so it kinda works? I agree that it's pretty wonky though.

Maybe castform is predicting the weather to adapt to it. If you use a weather move when castform is active, it will change forms before the weather has an effect on the other Pokémon. For example, if it is about to rain, castform will change its type to get stab on its water moves. Another example is that it changes type when it is about to hail to avoid the chip damage at the end of the turn. It is predicting the EFFECTS of the weather and adapting before anyone takes advantage of them.
