I LOVED the way you presented this video going between both games - the pacing just felt great going between hunts, and it was super cool to see parallels like the Wingull hell and the final battles!! Awesome video all around, and I didn't expect the whole cheating admission/talk about faking shiny reactions in the middle!!! My take has always been that what you do in a game is always personally up to you, and honesty is the most important policy at the end of the day! There used to be a BIG issue with fake shiny reactions in the full odds circle back in the day (with a crazy discovery about Platinum starters that exposed a handful of shiny Platinum starter videos as fake in 2018), and it's cool to see someone talk some about the body language and stuff that goes into a fake reaction. (and thanks for the Absol shoutout LOL)

When it comes to "cheating" in solo runs of pokemon, whether it be through giving yourself the shiny or changing odds etc it has never really bothered me and the only reason is due to that I rng manipulate. I will add that it has ruined full odd/normal hunting for me because I'd rather have my targets also have perfect stats (in gens where bottlecaps didnt exsist.) And Challenges like these at the end of the day are for the creator of them to do and for the viewers to watch/enjoy. With how shiny hunts do go it usually takes being very lucky of cutting to the clip where it eventually shines. So as the viewer its up to us to feel if you also obtained it in the presented amount of encounters or whatever legitimately. Now since I rng manipulate my excitement is usually pretty tame when I hit my target because I know if I hit the necessary frame I WILL see a shiny pokemon with the exact nature and IV's I was going for. And people who don't like RNG manipping will call my shinnies ill-legitimate but at the end of the day we're playing pokemon and whatever aids our enjoyment of these games as players we should do. And when I have my ds in hand and show someone a shiny pokemon I own, most of the time their reaction is "Oh, cool." Whether I got it randomly or RNG'd doesnt matter to them. So take that as you will.

Funnily enough im doing the story latias. Takes about 3m 30s a reset. Currently at 1290 resets . The curse of wingull is also funny to me since when i was horde hunting aron in oras i got 6 shiny female zubats before getting a single aron, hitting 7068 hordes. 35k+ encounters to get

I've gone through Y and Alpha Sapphire with only shinies, so I sort of understand the struggles you had, except I wasn't restricted to only using mega pokemon. I initially wanted a shiny Riolu for Y, but after going over 9000 encounters and getting a Dunsparce, I just decided to take it and leave (it was pretty good anyways, believe it or not). In Alpha Sapphire, I ended up going for the story Latias. Only took about half a year before it finally showed up at 3,981 encounters... (pain) Eventually, I'm going to do another run of either Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, but first I need to get 3 very rare and special mythical shinies. 2 of them will be used in the playthrough, the 3rd is just from the same gen as one of the others Wish me luck

I've been doing Shiny only Team runs for the past year or so and have become A RNG Manipulation Enjoyer in the process. Gen 6's RNG manipulation is a pain due to Tiny MT, but could have been used to get some of those Shinies. Or manipping Pokémon in older games and then transferring them. Much easier on emulator too. I think you'd enjoy learning about the RNG methods across the generations. I remember you did Gen 3, but don't remember if you did it for any other generations.

I’m kind of tired of this, where he makes a crazy concept for a shiny hunting video or just a generally difficult shiny hunting video then midway or the end he just goes “Yeah I cheated, I actually did bla bla bla to get bla bla bla because I don’t have the time for this.” If you don’t have the time for it don’t record, script it, and edit it just for people to find out 20 minutes into the video that you’ve been cheating or at the end of the video you just cheat through it. It’s just a big turnoff for me.

I agree! Cheating is lame and wrong. And if you listened to what I was saying during the “bla bla bla” portion, you would potentially be able to understand that I’ve accepted the fact that cheating is lame and wrong, and that going forward I won’t be doing it again :) I’ve dedicated a second channel to saving all of my shiny hunting footage & my stream vods, where everyone will be able to see I’m doing exactly what I’m saying I’m doing, and every shiny that I say is legit, is in fact legit. If a hunt takes 40 hours, there will be 40 hours worth of footage on that channel. If it takes 200, there will be 200 :)
