Hints I’ve learned playing this (in the span of 1 day) free surf hm at fushia, kenya the spearow has fly (which is locked until three badges) which lets you fly anywhere even if you haven’t been there gen 2 apricorn balls has been patched for crystal clear mt moon and/or union cave has an npc which upgrades your Pokédex speaking of which the Pokédex is very informative in this actually making looking on serebii or bulbapedia unnecessary so you don’t have to leave your game (could of checked Pokédex for tangelas learnset) also the dex tracker functionality mentioned at the beginning can let you find wild Pokémon with egg moves and in options setting nurse to fast makes nurse joy get to the point

Thank you for this, grabbing Kenya might be something I do next so that I can get around much easier. Another good strat if you’ve got patience for it, Snorlax behind Diglett Tunnel is pretty OP in this at least early on. Sabrina was a pushover with that

In gen 1-3, All of the Eeveelutions' types plus Dragon are Special, everything else is Physical.

If you talk to the statue at the entrance of gyms you can re-challenge them at any gym badge number up to the number you have, it's good for grinding.

It's pretty cool to think of the Pokemon League as a big organization that tracks a player's progress and is in charge of unlocking things along the way. Professor Oak kind of did that in the original, but it makes sense to have an entire organization doing it rather than just one old dude.

The guy outside the Game Corners (both Celadon and Goldenrod) teach Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, and Flamethrower. It uses to cost Coins but now it cost Pokedollars. Oh and you can get Leftovers in the trash can in the restaurant.

I’m normally not into playing romhacks/fan games myself (happy to watch them though!) but this one looks pretty interesting! Tbh the mini sprites by themselves almost have me sold, lol. Might have to give this a try sometime. A Gen 2 styled game with faithful new graphics and more modern features sounds pretty nice!

It's very worth playing it. You can even soft reset for your shiny starter at the beginning and yes, they have shiny sprites when following you too. Join their discord and watch out for new releases. Have fun bro.

Hey, so before you leave Celadon dude, you might wanna check the trash can in the Eating Contest for a Leftovers~ As far as Heracross goes, that Fighting type could come in clutch against Jasmine later on if you're still interested in it. There's still that free Eevee up in the Celadon Mansion in addition to the 800 Coin prize too. There's some pretty clutch TMs available in the first initial set too. That Goldenrod Radio Tower Event Tutor is actually pretty clutch if you're interested in Smogon-level Pokemon movesets. I'm excited to see how you do in upcoming videos dude! Best of luck~!

Hey Scykoh! You can rechallenge gym leaders by talking to the statue so you can grind easier. You can rechallenge at any badge level so you can even do it with weak pokemon!

Thanks for the introduction to the series! I've shiny hunted a couple of static pokemon, and accidentally got a shiny magikarp from the magikarp salesman the second time I restarted. You should totally shiny hunt a static pokemon. With speed up and the ability to save right before you get a mon, it's really easy.

Oh, and static pokemon shiny odds are increased to about 1/1000. EDIT: Special types are easy to remember in gen 1 and 2. Just remember all of the modern eevelutions, plus dragon. Everything else is attack based.

Letting the player get Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam so early is a pretty strange game design choice. Also, Sleep seems INCREDIBLY overpowered in Gen 2.

Hey Scykoh, here's how to remember what is physical and special before the split. If Eevee can evolve into the type, or it's dragon, it's special. If it's not dragon and Eevee can't evolve into the type, it's physical. So: Fire, water, grass, ice, electric, dark, psychic, and dragon are special.

Already watching all 3 episodes so far I can’t wait for the next one. Now I can watch when you do your 4th. Also to give an idea of what the event tutor can teach the Pokédex has a feature where it can preview moves for that Pokémon including move tutors. Also there are other move tutors. One teaches Kanto Gen 1 TMs such as Submission. Another teaches event moves (as you saw earlier, if you had a pikachu it could learn surf). One I believe is a move reminder but that’s in johto I think. Also there’s one for unown where if you do a side quest you can teach a wide variety of moves. But there’s only location in the ruins of alph and unown can’t learn those moves anywhere else. So it’s an unown specific move tutor.

I'd fight Brock first as he'll be super easy to defeat and get a good head start on beefing up Tangerine. Then maybe you can switch train Vesta until both Triforce and Vesta have dark type moves for Sabrina. Loving this series so far!

Hey scykoh, if you want, you can re-challenge gyms by talking to the statue at the entrance of the gym. And you can even pick at what set you want (set is number of badges) to train AND make money. Its AWESOME. Also you may want to go to goldenrod city (you can take the train in Saffron to switch regions before you get fly) and get a lucky egg at the game corner AND the amulet coin at the bottom of the department store (its open). Just stuff to help speed up the game for ya!

Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Psychic, Dragon and Dark are special. Every other type is physical. Even Ghost is physical, for... some reason. That's been a huge mystery from day one.

Hey Scykoh! Sorry I haven't been tuning in much lately. I'll be viewing your vids regularly now. aaaaaand now it's time for a team prediction! With Vesta and Triforce I wanna say you're gonna do an all star team, except with tangerine, that kinda throws a rench into that... but I still think a lot of your team members will be all stars. With that being said, I think the team will be: Vesta, Triforce, Tangerine, Matilda (yellow), Kapa (Let's go) and Knox (crystal). Kapa because we know Poliwrath is your fav mon, Matilda because of a specific npc later on, and Knox because I feel that out of the crystal representitives, he'd add the most to the predicted team.

In Gold, Silver, and Crystal the Olivine City Gym technically is girl only because it only has Jasmine in it. In HeartGold and SoulSilver there are other NPCs but they still don't actually challenge you to a battle, so it's also still girl only for battles. Also at the end of the game I'd love to see a Gym tour where your final team takes on all 16 gyms at max level. The max level gym leader teams are nuts.

So I will sIay, get Heracross. Such a good Pokémon that is bug/fighting which is great against Psychic, Rock and Normal and has a great Attack stat. Also since you're starting in Kanto I'm sure Goldenrod gym (which is an all girl gym as well if I'm not mistaken) will be tough when you get there so you can't go wrong with Heracross...one of my favorite Pokémon as well so slightly biased lol.

If I remember right they changed it in this game, and you can also get stuff like ice beam, thunderbolt and some other moves from a NPC paying them up instead of using coins. And there's also a tutor move guy there. Edit: Mixed cities up, the NPC and tutor are in Goldenrod I think.

@@-TeamEon- By all means go for it. I highly recommend it. It is one of the best romhacks out there. Very polished and gives you room to use the more obscure Pokemon thanks to the tutor system giving you access to moves those Pokémon normally wouldn't learn even via 'normal' tutor.

Hey Scykoh! Dark type is special in gen 2, which your Vesta will be strong in. He's also got Blackglasses as a held item so your dark moves are currently more powerful than your fire moves. Use pursuit more often! EDIT: I just saw you picked up flamethrower.... Nevermind :)

Scykoh had a test stream on Twitch a couple of days ago to make sure that the randomizer for the gen 6 nuzlocke works. It seemed to work mostly fine! He also mentioned that he was planning on streaming on Wednesdays, I think at 2 pm EDT? This should start in the next few weeks.

Emerald Enhanced, the only one i know of. You dont select a city to start, but it's basically the same concept, and you dont even need to use HMs (you do it yourself, so HMs were replaced by TMs, and a Fly key item substitute).

This game is... interesting. i started in Pallet Town and got Eevee as a starter. Then I got Poliwag to fight Brock and... I was so lucky to get Shiny Poliwag. Then I checked Victory Road and you can got there before any badge. With 1 Pokeball I got Golem lvl 35 (Magnitude, Selfdestruct, Harden, Rollout) I guess I'm not gonna use that Golem until I get few badges, to make it fair

I used to deliberately not train my Pokemon too high lest they get full of themselves like Ash's Charizard did... who I am just now remembering he found abandoned, so he wasn't the OT for him either. Damn
