Researcher Grizz here, glad to see you actually found the Battle Tutor and didn't just make a beeline through Mt. Moon. There's a shortcut you can take to get back to the Acetrainer HQ and Battle Tutor Lab if you walk into the top-left corner of the wall that's to the left of the Mt. Moon Pokecenter. I'd recommend checking the Battle Tutor options at any PC, you can get some great new moves for your teammates! Hope you keep having fun! (also, my team isn't shiny. CC has custom palettes based on certain DV/species, so with a specific nickname you can change the color of a mon that matches that criteria. you can also set a single custom palette using the Pokedex from the INFO tab)

If you walk in the corner on the left side out of the Pokémon Center, you can see a hidden shortcut to get exactly where you were before fainting

Aww yeah. I started this game because of you! It's amazing! Don't forget to re-battle gyms for an easier grind. Early game nugget bridge, decent trainers and always a nugget. Good for that early game moneyyy.

I also started a few days ago! Tbh one trick I’ve found to get levels and money fast is pretty cheaty, but it works wonders. If you use save states to quickly brute force your way through the game Voltorb Flip, you’ll quickly rack up enough coins to buy a tooon of rare candies. You can either use em or sell em, both go a long way for you given how valuable they are.

Fun fact: The Berserk Gene is unique to Gen. 2. As far as I'm aware, its only found in Cerulean City through the itemfinder in the normal game. It actually MAXES your Attack stat (like a full 6 stages) but confuses you. Its a high risk high return item.

Grizz mentioned that he did stuff between kanto and johto what he’s hinting at is Kanto Gen 1 TMs. Meaning you can teach your mons the tms from gen 1 like submission and rock slide.

Yooooo Scykoh, that Magikarp can be awesome and sooner than you think! In goldenrod radio tower there's an NPC that teaches event moves, and one of them is Dragon Rage, which Magikarp learns. It'll be easy as pie to train him up if he has that move!

You know you can get Larvitar at Mt. Mortar. Also, you can get Chikorita in the Viridian Forest or Bulbasaur in Illex Forest. Just in case you might want to use them in place of Sandshrew and Tangela.

Posting from episode 2 (cause bulk episode I think made you miss it) Hints I’ve learned playing this (in the span of 1 day) free surf hm at fushia, kenya the spearow has fly (which is locked until three badges) which lets you fly anywhere even if you haven’t been there gen 2 apricorn balls has been patched for crystal clear mt moon and/or union cave has an npc which upgrades your Pokédex speaking of which the Pokédex is very informative in this actually making looking on serebii or bulbapedia unnecessary so you don’t have to leave your game (could of checked Pokédex for tangelas learnset) also the dex tracker functionality mentioned at the beginning can let you find wild Pokémon with egg moves and in options setting nurse to fast makes nurse joy get to the point
