I like that Walter's been foreshadowed before, when you checked the radio early in the game, it mentioned a case of man murdering his wife and, because of his heart problems, being allowed to stay at home instead of being sent straight to prison. Not sure if it has already been in the original game, or was it added as a neat little tidbit in the remaster.

It was. And his initials are W.H., Walter Hoffman. At the start of Pokemon Dusk:Chronicles Klaus, he was arrested by Klaus. But Klaus killed himself hours before Walter came into the safe house.

Honestly watching this again the story isn’t all that bad. The mechanics, custom graphics, excessive swearing etc (I think us Europeans just swear more lol) could be improved in many ways but it’s good in a campy way. I’ve seen way worse indie horror games, you can tell this was a passion project of sorts.

It’s still hilarious how zombies managed to appear and destroy ALL OF CIVILIZATION in a world with not just guns but POKÉMON… in the time it took Ethan to make it through Ilex Forest. The Celebi dream-retcon ending genuinely is the one that makes the most sense, especially considering how anti-everything-Pokémon-represents this game is.

To be fair, it wasn't a single first infected. Everyone at once got infected from the radio waves, and then any death would cause an outbreak. In a large region, a few hours is plenty of time for several natural deaths to occur. It's even plausible that the signal went out a few hours before he entered Ilex forest, and it was chance that led to no outbreaks in Azalea while he was there. Or maybe one did, and it just wasn't recognized, as in the logs you find. Once it was identified, it was too late and many outbreaks led to rapid and sudden declines. Team Rocket's presence in Goldenrod means there was likely a lot of violence and therefore more death/outbreaks. All in all, it's a bit unlikely, but plausible that an infection like what is described could progress in such a manner.

@@Dreigonix But Zombie Pokémon are substantially more threatening than a billion Lions. Because the threat is Pokémon vs Pokémon AND Human Trainer infected. I think Zombie Pokémon has real potential to cause a serious collapse of society and general life (Within the confines of the Universe of course). Depending on what kinds of Pokémon turned. Pokémon Dusk sets the precedent that a Quilava could handle all these zombies, but realistically, it only occurs in such a way because it is a video game, and the progression of the story is in the hands of the player. Trainers could feasibly win, but there's a very real possibility that we get Gengar Zombies that float through walls and are impossible to reasonably flee from. Zombie Charizards that stalk the skies and then descend and turn the living. The list goes on and on. A gigantic Zombie Venasaur with infected Vine Whips, Sweet Scent, SLEEP POWDER. These things are dangerous, and while Pokémon Dusk does an okay job portraying these concepts, I think Zombie Pokémon are actually fucking terrifying.

I cannot even begin to say how happy I was to get this notification ! I watched the original playthrough not too long ago, so watching you play the remaster was a lot of fun ! Looking forward to you playing Nightfall, and the rest of the series as the games are slowly translated to English. The music in the Dept. Store was a nice surprise for me, personally - it's the domain theme for Core Tower, from Digimon World 2. Ironic how it was used so early in this game, since that's the second to last dungeon in its native game. Sorry, I got emotional there for a moment. Good memories. Anyway, I have to assume the final outfit to collect was in the Day-Care. Looking at the files, it's by far the best outfit in my humble opinion ( but not worth going back for as you've already completed the game again. ) For everyone else who's curious: Ethan's final outfit is the "Modern" outfit, and ( as the name implies ) are his colors and design from HGSS, refitted for the GSC sprite.

That "obduct" might be a weird German translation FYI. The word "Obduktion" is basically when you investigate a corpse for analysis and cut it open, so "obduct" may have been the translation here for the verb of that because it sounds similar. Misinformation spreads as quickly as information. All it takes is 1 person to see someone get bitten and turn to come to the wrong conclusion and then spread that misinformation. Also, if getting bitten causes an illness that kills you, bite = zombie is still technically true. That makes the truth harder to figure out in the chaos.

2:59:50 I dont think they forgot to translate that part, its just a sound that people forget is region-specific. I think the english version could be "ehm" or something. Its similar to animal noises, in germany a dog might say "wuff" or something and you would expect it to be the same everywhere since its the same sound everywhere, dogs dont have different languages yet in english regions you would still say something like "woof" instead.

I feel like some pokemons would be immune to zombie viruses, like rhyhorn or skarmory, so even somebody like, say, giovanni with his rhydon might survive easily

Actually yes. the magnemite line is just unlucky in this story. because the wave spread affects organic matter and wave sensitive pokemon.. like magnemite in this case.

The fighting in this would probably be less frustrating if the movement wasn't tile-based, it would be more like an old Zelda game.

Actually Whitney is she been a bit of one word could be used to describe Whitney's personality, it would be "chaotic." While her most infamous traits are the fact that she's a sore loser and a massive crybaby, Whitney has a multilayered personality: she is loud, cocky, energetic, cheerful, and slightly ditzy all at the same time. (She is also implied to be gluttonous and an overeater, though she denies it.) Despite her negative traits, Whitney is also social and friendly and respects people that defeat her in Gym battles (though she usually has to cry first before she gives people badges).
