@ProfBrasher2 ай бұрын
@blubudubbel definitely an option but not necessarily cheaper. the u.s versions of pokemon channel didn't have a Jirachi. You'd have to get a Pal version which is pretty close to the price of the bonus disc itself and completely beat the game to unlock the jirachi so it ends up being more work for around same price. To anyone who happens to have a pal pokemon channel also note that you'll need ruby or sapphire to claim it as emerald isn't compatible with pokemon channel. And thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

And I thought buying hoopa off eBay for my Pokémon x living regional Dex was bad. It’s reasons like this that I don’t ever try and complete a living national Dex in the games. I’m happy just doing the regional Dex and leaving it at that. Especially for generation 3. I just completed my living Dex for heart gold and even with transferring Pokémon from soul silver, diamond, pearl, platinum and fire red, It’s taken forever. Great video. RS are technically not needed as everyone has to play through Colosseum and XD for Ho-Oh And Lugia, and Meditite is obtainable in Colosseum, with XD having Lunatone and Zangoose. With the Roar glitch non players choice versions of FRLG will have them delete themselves from the simulation, you can tell if your version is players choice or not based on the startup having "presents" in the Game Freak presents of the startup.

I recently bought an authentic cartridge to Emerald, so I wanted to get the most out of it by completing everything (including the Pokedex) I don't have enough money to get two gameboys, let alone the gamecube games. Instead I got myself an R4 card for PKHex to move around pokemon, evolve trades and to get all the events. I also used GBA Backup to make save states to obtain every starter without having to replay. Luckily I have every GBA game except Sapphire so I was able to get nearly every pokemon without killing my wallet 👍

you could also get a jirachi from pal region copies of pokemon channel, much cheaper too
@ProfBrasher2 ай бұрын
@thepokemonqueen definitely possible, tho not necessarily cheaper. Pal pokemon channel ranges from $2-$300 CAD which is honestly in the same price range as the bonus disc. That and you'll have to fully beat Pokemon Channel in order to get Jirachi. And you'd also need a copy a Ruby or Sapphire to transfer it to as Emerald isn't compatible with Pokemon Channel. So unless you already own a pal pokemon channel and ruby or sapphire it ends up being up being cheaper and easy to get him on the bonus disc. Definitely an option for anyone who already has that game laying around tho!

You clearly have a different opinion on this, I, who has never hacked anything in any Pokemon game ever (played since Red), consider the flashcart events of Gen 3 completely legit, because they are literally recreated from the original code of the legit event, you actually distribute them through Mystery gift and everything is exactly as it was back in the day. Of course if I had Birth island Deoxys from the original event, the one distributed with the recreated event would not be anywhere near as valuable to me, but I wouldn’t compare hacks, and glitches to the flash cart and say ”pick your poison”; you could say that for the glitches and hacking for sure, but to me the recreated events are not considered poison and are actually *the legit* way of getting these pokemon again. Maybe that’s just me, but for context, as a kid me and my friends DROOLED for the idea to get to experience these events, but due to living in Finland, most of the gen3 events never came here and thus it was obvious to us we would never be able to. I literally remember seeing dreams how suddenly there was npc in Pokemon Center that gave me one of the tickets finally, and then being sad when waking up lmao. But I never considered hacking okay in these games, so despite how badly I wanted to experience the events, it was not an option to cheat the items in. And thus the items became these mystical relics in my mind how they were something rare and amazing, but I had accepted it that I could not be able to obtain them. That was until I learned about the recreated events couple of years ago, and looked into it and immediately, I was ready to get my hands on a flashcart where some of these events were and was able to distribute them and experience them for the first time in 20 years. And it felt *completely legit*. I don’t know, this whole 3rd gen event thing has been such a great experience because for so long it was such a bitter sweet thing, not being able to get them while appreciating the rareness of them, to finally getting access to them and even able to distribute them to one of my friends from my childhood too. Man, Pokemon’s great..!
@ProfBrasher2 ай бұрын
@grydon6422 Amazing story! I think in most people's eyes if it requires you to use 3rd party hardware and such it no longer becomes legit. Like you I don't use hacks or cheats ever this was a first for me lol. At the end of the day it's about the experience tho, like you I never got to experience these events as a kid so they were definitely an amazing thing to finally experience!
