Gold and Silver were the two games I grew up on--mainly Silver version. I'm definitely sticking with my childhood memories and getting SoulSilver. I'm so glad they're remaking those two. Once Ruby and Sapphire came out, I stopped keeping up with Pokemon and lost my interest, but this'll definitely spike my interest again.

0:55 - 1:06 and 1:17 - 1:33 are my favourite parts, along with 0:00 - 0:14 (the encounter and the introduction). This song is, to me, the best in all the Pokémon games. Gen I had the best and funniest soundtrack, and Gen II had the most epic music.

Technically, they were event Pokemon in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum because you couldn't get them through normal gameplay. I don't know the TRUE definition of an event Pokemon, but mark my words, when they come out, Nintendo will have new strategy guides for Diamond/Pearl, Platinum, and Battle Revolution just to say that Ho-Oh and Lugia can be obtained through Heart Gold and Soul Silver, and information on Darkrai and Shaymin, and Arceus if he's out by them.

Lugia and Ho-oh were both Event pokemon in firered/leafgreen. Via mystery ticket.

Before Colosseum and XD came out, they were because as far as I know, GBC games couldn't trade with the GBA games. But they were technically still event Pokemon because they weren't available in the mainstream games. And they weren't the main stars of the game (not Ho-Oh, at least, but Lugia was actually Shadow Lugia in the game, so it wasn't really the main star of the game). I don't really know, but somehow they were event because Nintendo classified them as such for D/P/PT. Not for HG and SS.

Reminds me of the time I beat Brock's Onix in PkMn Yellow using, Pikachu Pidgey Caterpie Rattata and the Nidorans using all of their stat lowering moves in succession to beat Onix down to size XD If I hadn't thought of that I wouldn't stand a chance
