Since around halfway through the original franchise nuzlocke series, I always had the thought in the back of my mind saying "You know what would be absolutely unhinged and hilarious? If we did this again with only shiny Pokemon." and the intrusive thoughts won. So here we are, Shiny Only Season 2 baby!

Rules of the challenge:
1. All encounters must be shiny Pokemon (HM users may not be shiny but are not allowed to be used for attacking in battle)
2. Fainting = Death
3. Can only catch one Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
4. Cannot use a species of Pokemon more than once in the franchise (regional variants are considered separate)
5. No items in battle (held items okay)
6. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
7. Play on "Set" battle mode

Like Pandaman said, check out "This gym of mine" a fan game built using Pokemon Essentials, a RPG Maker XP project made with the goal of making the creation of fan games easier. It lets you run your own gym, letting you pick your specialization and help rebuild the city after the previous gym leader left and let it get into disrepair from gang activity etc.

Amazing Game, and hilariously enough, you can easily cheese one of the 'Boss' fights if you pick Steel. Spoilers about the how below So, one of the challenges you can do outside of defending your Gym involves fighting a Trainer with a Level 100 Tyranitar. However, this Tyranitar ONLY knows Hyper Beam and Giga Impact, meaning it cannot 1 Shot Steel types that are decent level. Have enough Healing Items, and the right moveset, and you can dogwalk the trainer rather easily around Mid 40s

I totally agree that RNG manipulation is a valid method of shiny hunting. And I realise PokéTubers have schedules they need to try and hit so they can get vids out on time etc., but I always think it's a shame when RNG is used for vids like this instead out it being up to chance, seeing surprised reactions etc.

My guess is Lunatone learns Ice Beam because the moon is so cold. Allowing it to have another parallel to Solrock that is linked to heat with fire type moves.

If use Shiftry you absolutely need to use the Solarbeam/Sunny Day/Chlorophyll route. Bullet Seed or Giga Drain is just not good enough. You need to survive the first round, but then it's pretty hard attacks later.

Are the GC games being skipped? I know Coll can be shiny hunted, and I know GoD does have some locks. Or is the order of the games getting shuffled around? Since Coll was grouped with R/S and GoD was grouped with FR/LG/E. "For some reason Aggron doesn't have a Rock type move." That's because Aggron's gen 3 learnset doesn't HAVE rock type moves really. It doesn't learn any rock type moves by level up, only gets Rock Tomb (and sandstorm as a technicality) by TM, and only gets Rollout and Rock Slide in Emerald through tutoring. Why on earth would you not expect to be outsped by Slaking? Combusken is base 55 speed, even with max speed EVs on Combusken, Slaking's base 100 will always outspeed your Combusken with its speed IV unless the Slaking rolls 17 or lower in its speed IV AND has a -speed nature.

I don’t believe manipulating RNG is a legitimate way mate. Yeah you need to get out videos but it’s not the same knowing you’re getting it on a frame then finding it after 1000’s of encounters.
