Okay, like 2 minutes in when you talk about Necali not having any ground type moves: You can relearn any pokemon's moves at any time outside battle. Open up your pokemon's status page and go to their moves. Press "A" to change moves, there you can relearn any move or teach them moves via TM where you'll only see the TMs you have they can learn.

Terastallizing only has two main effects: 1. It hard-sets the Pokémon's type to its tera type. 2. STAB is calculated at 1.5x for the original types and the tera type if it's completely different OR if the tera type matches an original type STAB for that type becomes 2x. Those are the ONLY changes from Terastallizing, so yeah, it's one of those things which has very specific applications and thus there's not a reason to do it too often in the main game. I find the best things to use it for is to power up for a difficult fight where you know you have a type advantage, or to get a Pokémon who's tera type is completely different from its standard types with an attack to match so that you can get more type coverage. Actually, the whole tera mechanic seems very much geared for competitive multiplayer. :B

Picard's Log Day 19 YO! Today is going to be amazing! I can already feel it! Let's get things started, shall we? We started things off today by getting the ability to Surf! ^_^ Scykoh also found the TM for Tail Wind while exploring! ^_^ Scykoh also found some Wise Glasses while exploring! ^_^ Then Scykoh found the TM for Trick Room while exploring! ^_^ Scykoh then found the TM for Reflect while exploring! ^_^ Then - after a very weird game of "hide and seek", Scykoh started his first gym battle of the day against a Gym Trainer named Marti who sent out his Luxio so Scykoh let Goose :) play around with this frisky feline! ^_^ Scykoh then played another round of "hide and seek" before getting into his second Gym battle of the day against a Gym Trainer named Michael who started things off by sending out his Tynamo so Scykoh let Goose :) and Fiona take Round Two! ^_^ Michael then sent out his Flaffy so Scykoh let Necali play with this staticky sheep! ^_^ Then, after a final game of "hide and seek", Scykoh finally got to challenge the Gym Leader Iono herself! ^_^ Iono started things off by sending out her Wattrel so Scykoh decided to let Goose :) play around for while. ^_^ Iono then sent out her Bellibolt so Scykoh decided to let Goose :) and Necali take Round Two! ^_^ Iono then sent out her Luxio so Scykoh let Necali, Fiona, and Craftee take Round 3! ^_^ Iono then sent out her...Mismagius...so Scykoh let me try my wings at things! ^_^ They tried to confuse me but I'm too strong for that crud to work on me! ^_^ As a result of the battle, Scykoh got the Gym Badge as well as the TM for Volt Switch! ^_^ What will happen tomorrow?! ^_^

FYI there's some items back in the inlet cave where you met koraidon but you couldn't get those items without him. Nothing important but you can get them now if you're going for completions sake 😅

Terastallizing changes your type, and also gives you bonus damage with moves of the type you become. Additionally, if I'm not mistaken, you keep the STAB from the typing you used to be, so there's no offensive downside. However, it doesn't alter your stats in any way.

Adds an extra x0.5 STAB multiplier for that type. So x2 for double type and x1.5 for just the tera type.

The fact that you can’t change from your school uniforms makes it so hard to want the varied hats and shoes because a lot of them just don’t go with any of the uniforms.

Terastalisation only affects your typing. OFFENSIVELY: You keep your usual STAB types, but you gain bonus STAB damage for the Tera Type. E.g., When terastalised - Flamigo with a Steel Tera Type would do +50% damage with Fighting, Flying and Steel attacks whereas Flamigo with a Flying Tera Type would do +50% damage with Fighting attacks, and +100% damage with Flying attacks. DEFENSIVELY: Your weaknesses and resistances are treated as though you are only the Tera Type. E.g., When terastalised - Flamigo with a Steel Tera Type would no longer be weak to Flying/Electric/Psychic/Ice/Fairy and immune to Ground. Instead it would be weak to Fighting/Fire/Ground and immune to Poison.

Regarding Terastalizing On Defense: your type gets changed to your Tera type, so you only have those weaknesses On Offense: your Tera type acts like an added STAB. You get to keep your original STAB and you get the Tera on top of it. So for example if you have a flying/water pokemon with an electric Tera type when they terastalize they would have x1.5 boost on flying, water and electric attacks. If the same pokemon had a water tera type they would have x1.5 for flying and x2 for water Stats and abilities remain unchanged

In the city you are in u can talk to a trainer for a trade that u wont regret :). Also as u explore u can use the left trigger to aim at pokemon it lets you see pokemons lvls and also makes it so u can throw your pokeballs at flying pokemon :D love the content bud :)

Levincia's music slaps Some tidbits for help with terastallizing: -The tera shards are used for changing a Pokemon's tera type. I believe it is 50 tera shards of the same type to change the Pokemon's tera to that type, and if I remember correctly you need the Medali gym badge in order to do so -When a Pokemon terastallizes, their tera type becomes their only defensive type. Offensively they have STAB from their tera type, as well as STAB from their standard type(s). Example: In the gym battle Mismagius (ghost) terastallizes into electric. Defensively, Mismagius is weak to only ground, but due to Levitate it effectively has no type weaknesses. Offensively, Mismagius has STAB electric, and STAB ground. -If you terastallize into one of your existing types (eg. Flam terastallizes into Fighting), you gain an extra 50% power (basically adding a second STAB boost to that type). No matter what, terastallizing adds one STAB boost to whatever type it is, whether you already have STAB for that type or not. Also, you may want to check out the classes at the academy. They can be done quickly and many have perks (although you need to collect badges to unlock more classes).

When you Terrastalize, if you happen to keep your type, your Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) gets stronger, and if you don't keep your type, you get to keep your original STAB AND you gain a new STAB. Other than that and changing your type, there's no other benefit to Terrastalizing.

You can change tera types of your pokemon but need those tera shard to do so.. you will require 50 of them to do this.. kinda similar to gmax soup in away

Since you probably won't go back to check (I mean, there would be no reason to), I'll just let you know. Necali could have had a different ability called Purifying Salt. That ability prevents status conditions AND it halves damage from Ghost type moves. Would have been useful here.
