6:00 this is the stage ive been at for a decent while now, ive been sourcing tons of boxes from my local supermarket lol. i found 2-3 different boxes the workers stockpile for me. i always wonder what the customers think when a 12 count of fruit cups shows up on their doorstep LOL.

pokemon looks like one of the easiest businesses someone could get into. if you can afford to hold the product for a while especially. I haven't started because I am just beginning to learn the product. I appreciate your effort. Im going to pull profit out of one business into cases. I know this is an old video, but I made my first eBay sale today. It was an ungraded secret rare Infernape for 8 dollars lol. I made 5 dollars. LETS GO! lol. I have been thinking of a bulk strategy myself. I need more bulk though lol. I'm waiting on the new sets to come out. I bought a case of Shrouded Fable, a case of Stellar Miracle (Japanese version), and a case of Stellar Crown. Since I new to the space, I'm just starting with the new stuff. I think that's a good start for bulk and singles

I’m nowhere near your level, but some good advice I feel, is when you start making content it might be hard to decide what you’re gonna make, so I personally make pokemon video game content and Pokemon news related videos, or if I see some cards blow up in the market I make a video ( a honest video ) about the market. The thing is people love Pokemon and you’ll gain followers who love Pokemon with this content, and eventually when I plan to rip and ship, it might not be a massive difference but I’ll have small community built already and I can help launch the rip and ship show. It’s all about passion to me when it comes to Pokemon, I feel you truly have to love Pokemon to succeed in Pokemon.

I agree with selling on tcgplayer that’s what I did first, however you have to understand that bulk doesn’t sell like people pretend it does, bulk has to be sold in bulk to really make flips otherwise you’re losing money on shipping when you even sell a card, nobody buys bulk cards and if they do it’s usually like 40 at a time. I chose to sell bulk cards with competitive use and went through my entire collection picking them out. However if you sell cards worth at least 50 cents you’ll profit on each sale, I agree people should start here because it’s super easy and it helps you learn how to deal with customers, gives. You something to advertise in your content and give you sales experience, I learned a lot about how to please customers, how to price out shipping cost and source shipping materials consistently/ how to package them neatly. It’s really fun lol

Owned a small LLC for a year 2023 spent more money than I made buying primarily from japan ebay a little wouldnt do it again plus having little to no quickbook experience. Made 300$ for opening the business account plus the write off’s definitely saved me a little bit of money. I focused on niche bandai raw sets graded the best ones…like many others do as well. Graded alot of 151 japanese cgc did decent tag team break not so great and some other non card product also hard sells accessories plush wont invest again in those even cards have become so difficult to be profitable and grading vintage is always the hardest. I know one guy who bought a ton in 2014-2020 he is not a millionaire but has made decent money. Still hasnt paid off his house either BTW even with tons of rare sealed vintage boxes and tons of rare singles and bulk cards worth a good amount.

It's called competition xD no one is competing with your grandpa in pidgey racing. The amount of pokemon businesses is astronomical. That being said I'm still trying I have a tik tok shop and it's doing okay.

Fair point BUT Another factor to consider is the size of the market though. I’m pulling this number out of nowhere but I’m guessing the pigeon racing market is a few million at most. Pokémon as a company is valued at 150 BILLION dollars with 21 billion being reserved for the TCG. Add on all the other TCG’s (mtg, yugioh, one piece etc) you’re probably looking at a 40-50 billion dollar pie. I’d say I’m a relatively “large” player at only 4 million a year and I make X4 the average US salary … anyone watching could do a 4th of what I’m doing, live pretty well, and barely dent the market share. So yeah, I think it’s an easy industry to make a living with

For me, buying singles, grading them is working for me. My profit margin is good half of the time. I can break even, lose a few dollars or 2X or 3X my money if I get a Gem Mint 10 on certain cards. I got the state IRS auditing me this year because I had too much expense. And I didn't even make 5k profits 😢. They are investigating me for spending too much.

I have thousands of dollars worth of sealed and unsealed product..I have my city’s stock forsure on lorcana marvel Disney 100 and Pokémon. I just started as well and made a big sale yesterday on Fb market place. I just need to start posting now and create the sm accts and sites. I do have some content of my son and me opening bangers. Started a TCGPlayer account a month ago and spent $125.44 for bulk shipping supplies. I have gotten that money back easy.

It’s a great start no doubt. But don’t forget there was cost to the product as well. Not to mention you will be required to cover taxes at end of year as well. Tcg fees, etc.. It felt great selling when I was using my old collection items that already had sunk costs. Once I went through my inventory it was much less fun. Bulk sells for a penny, and doesn’t always sell fast or at all. Buying retail price for packs is expensive and a gamble as you aren’t guaranteed anything… sourcing cards them becomes the real challenge of all of this.. trying to find cards for prices that you can still make some profit on after your shipping costs, tcg/eBay fees, and taxes is a reallllly time consuming and difficult process for very very little margins. I’ve decided to just use this as a way to subsidize the cost of the hobby. If I can make 2-3$ on the bulk/duplicates I get from packs, that means it only cost me 0-3$ to participate in the hobby per pack.. To make money like some of these KZbin guys? Phew idk.. the market is so saturated with such low cost low margin products, it’s rough
