If you've ever played live or online poker you will be familiar with playing pots against many opponents. Playing multiway requires a different poker strategy than if you were playing heads up! In this live poker webinar I am going to teach you all of the tools that you need so that you can crush in multiway pots!
It is important to remember that you should play tighter in a multiway pot as you are up against more hands and therefore a much wider range. The nut & range advantage are both greatly reduced as there are more ranges in the pot.
The general adjustments you should be making are to check way more often in multiway pots and also to use smaller bet sizes in multiway pots.
Players at the low and micro stakes do not like to fold very often so bluffing with air into multiple opponents is a quick way to lose all of your money at the poker table! Equally when you do make a strong hand it is very likely you will get paid but you need to learn how to navigate each street effectively.
After you have watched this live poker webinar you will have all of the tools necessary to go and crush in multiway pots!

I’ve been watching these videos about 3 years now, and I completely agree this is one of the most important videos I’ve seen. Multi-way pots are very difficult to navigate because the variables to consider increase significantly. I love when something is naturally counterintuitive but then actually makes sense when explained (e.g the KJ x|r vs K6 call on AK5). I learned a lot here. Thank you!

This is really connecting well with something you said in another webinar I watched: "A lot of the time the correct play feels wrong." While I can understand the rationale of the solver in these spots, I can't "feel" like it's correct. That Q-3-2 board is a prime example of how the GTO play feels unnatural. Great webinar, especially at low stakes you're going to be playing multiway more often then not.

He's literally only losing to 4 hands (66s,qqs,AA,random 2) and he's playing a NOTORIOUS BLUFFER. How could he fold?? SMH so hard I'm turning into the Exorcist child.

That aq raise (around 25 minutes mark).... I assume we are not doing that when we are 100BB deep and our allin treshhold should be much higher. Am I correct? Nice video btw!!!

This isn't fully relevant to this video but the 1/2 games around me often use 15 dollars as an open raise. I was curious if this is something you've seen often. Essentially the game is just immediately higher stakes. Seems people have defaulted to 15 dollar raises to avoid getting called by 8 people who often feel a 10 dollar raise is the same as a 2 dollar limp. This makes 3 betting more often difficult as it would often be 30-50% of your stack. As a response, the games I've played tighter and just focused on entering the pot when I have position on my opponents and know my hand is the best in that situation most of the time (at least preflop). Thus, I end up playing only a few hands per hour the days I do decently well. Do you think its important to try and set the pace for the 1/2 by consistently open raising to 10 dollars and accepting the junk hands that enter the pot? I know its technically supposed to be an advantage but it does make it harder to play against those people and perhaps I'm succumbing to confirmation bias but it does seem to be that I lose to 94o a lot ahah I realize my problems are probably primarily postflop however since I may be one of those people who bets too often and at the incorrect times. But essntially I'm curious if you think open raises to 15 dollars in a 1/2 cash game is going to be a big advantage or a big disadvantage.

Think about it I'm no JL but I do remember him saying exploit your opponents Maybe to get the most out of people raising to 15 is to 3 bet with Nut hands if they don't fold to often and just call more often when it just trying to see the flop?🤷🏾‍♂️ Of course I could be wrong but I'm just trying to put what I think I remember to practice I wish you good luck 🤞 Edit but I do know also having to fold hands for hours at a time is not rare at all for pros and successful content creators

I really don't understand how our KK doesn't have the range advantage on the Q32 flop. We raised pre, both flat, so we have all the AA KK QQ AQ KQ maybe QJ, and even the 33 and 22's for sets. And since nobody 3b pre, we probably have the nut advantage there too.

KK is not the only hand in your range. You have a ton of unpaired hands.

Thanks for the video! I learned a lot, but I would prefer that you use 100BB examples instead of 40BB. I think by using 100BB examples, you will help the most players. In cash, only donkeys have 40bb stacks. I wonder how the strategy differs with 100BB stacks.

In a Live 1/2 game where players have a propensity to overcall and underbluff, I am going 2/3 with KK on a Q32r board GTO is nice, but it won't make you the most money in this spot.
@OneEyedJack01
@OneEyedJack01 Жыл бұрын
Nobody at 1/2 is playing GTO and most of them aren't paying any attention to your play patterns. Playing exploitative is more profitable at low stakes because there are more mistakes to exploit.

My most _memorable_ bluff was at 10-20 stud. I had four Hearts showing but all I had was a missed straight draw that i had been betting and a missed flush drawe and a seven on the river had given me a pair of sevens. But we were heads up and I made the futile river bluff in limit into a pot where he would have been justified in calling because I might have a heart attack and a dead man can't win a pot. And he called and said "flush is good, you lucky bastard.. And I flipped up my other seven and said just a pair and he said "Sevens are good, you lucky bastard.
