Insane hand with 3 legends. I think Daniel was in a brutal spot but he didn't think long enough about Phil Ivey's pause time on the river. This hand is quite similar to a hand between Esfandiari, Bob Safai and Durr many years ago. The reason Durr was able to fold trips is because Esfandiari took a really long time to fold on the turn signaling that he also had trips essentially allowing Durr to put Safai on a flopped boat. If Daniel thought about the action longer, he could have put Ivey on a 10 making more likely Antonius is value betting 5s full

I think that last check raise from Patrick was a value raise hoping to get value over hands he had beat, but also a partial bluff hoping to fold out hands that he loses too. I say that because he took such a strong line there.
@ju-v69262 жыл бұрын
You can't half value bet and half bluff at the same time! In this case, I believe Antonius was 100% value betting. Which is a bad play (Whar does he beat really). He was shocked (later in the episode) when he learned what Daniel had.
@nasty_slapper Жыл бұрын
@@ju-v6926 I agree. Hard to imagine that he'd reasonably expect 9's full to fold there. He was hoping to get a call from a lower hand, straight up.

This is one of the most interesting hands I've seen in a long time. Daniel's fold I can't even blame him for here, Patrik's play was so strong. I half think Patrik knew he was bluffing, would love a hand analysis from everyone involved in the hand. Like Gabe said, this hand with players of less skill would have been so much quicker but 3 of the best in the world here and it's so much fun to watch. Fantastic hand.

It was a awful golf what are you talking about , if the guy had Q10 or quads pay the man and move on
@ianboylan19812 жыл бұрын
@@18pablo88 it's easy for us to say that because we're behind the screen and seeing the cards but he loses to q10, 1010 and pocket queens. It's not out of the realm of possibility that Patrik could shove with one of those hands. It's also not impossible for someone to have q10 as you can see Ivey had K10 here and folded. I never could have folded the 9's full but I understand why Daniel folded at the same time and even gabe said the only hand that's shoving here that Daniel can beat is pocket 5s.

Don't overthink it, Patrick isn't bluffing. I think his push is a little thin considering it's clear Ivey is folding a ten. Thinking about it it may be Daniel's sizing on the turn that makes Patrick think he only has a ten. Pot bet on that texture isn't really standard.

Youve got to remember that Daniel is still snakebitten against these players on HSP so psychologically he's at a disadvantage, but to be fair, Antonius raising there makes no sense if he cant beat the rolled 9's boat so I guess it's either an insanely 5d move by I_Knockout_U or Antonius didn't believe Kid Poker and would push every time in that spot....personally, I think Antonius thought he was best and would have gotten a shock but Daniel read his confidence and couldn't put it down to having 5's on that board.

His first words were “you have quads” just like the Gus Hansen hand from an earlier season. Just take a couple zeros off the amounts they are playing and he snap calls. Folding a full house in this spot putting your opponent on quads after flatting the flop and betting 1/2 pot on the river defines scared to lose.

No way I’m ever folding 9’s full. If Ivey folded a Ten which seems likely from his reluctance to fold. It’s easy to assume Patrick has 5’s. And Daniel Blocks 9/10. Plus Daniel bets small on the River like he’s representing a one pair hand looking for thin value. I don’t get it. If Patrick has Queen’s Full. Then GG. I’m still paying it off.

This is the craziest hand. Donkey shove from Patrick made Daniel fold the best hand. Completely understand Daniel's fold, I would have folded too. Patrick completely overplayed his hand, as he had nothing more than a bluff catcher in this spot. Antonius played this rly rly horribly, but it worked out as Daniel assumes he isn't bad enough to shove with 5s. I would love to say Antonius was making the highest level bluff of all time to push daniel off precisely 9s, but he said himself later on in the show that he thought it was a value shove.
